Assorted Weekend News Bits

Post by Mala »

[Community -> Update]

Posting the following for Killzig who is having technical difficulties at the moment.

Gernot Poerner and Señor Nacho both e-mailed me about a photo journal of a ride through Chernobyl, it's got some interesting shots and well worthy of a look. Click here or here for the photo journal. Original credit goes to The Venerable Slashdot.

There's also a pretty fucking cool film trailer up at Apple.com for a movie called "The Day After Tomorrow." And it doesn't look like the stinkfest that was Deep Impact or any of those Death By Asteroid flicks that were all the rage a few years ago.

That is all.

quite absorbing material. first hand account, personal spin to it - readable and informative. Thanks for letting us know Killzig and Mala.

There's a bit about real stalkers, sth to this effect - "they weren't stealing for themsleves, but then the police shot about 8 of them and it helped" - good ol' methods :D, someone could think of making a game based on this story, aye? ;)

All this brings my own memories. When IT happened I was the same age as the author of the text (some girl! speeding on her kawasaki through the ghost cities, rad-o-meter beeping...) Mom took me for a iodine dose against radiation, and she was pretty nervous, though trying to conceal it. She explained me more or less what happened, but not completely so that I would't get scared. And we waited for the news - is the wind blowing from the east? Is the damn cloud reaching Poland? After it seemed we were safe, I got all the truth from mom. I thought "wow, that was something!".

"The Day After Tomorrow."

Seemingly a good flick but i predict it will show only the US under water and nothing about the rest of the world

No, I'm the guy who made the mirror at markrose.ca -- my first name is Mark. Hehe.

Read the photojournal. It's quite interesting.

But that's not news, that's general discussion.

Possibly a heads up to casual viewers of the webpage(they DO exist).

Yeah, it's efficiently creepy and thought-inspiring. Chernobyl was a small example of what this entire earth may one day look like. Depressing, really.
Endure. In enduring, grow strong.

"The Day After Tomorrow" is made by the same people who made "Independence Day". Take that how you will. Personally, I can't wait.

hehe, s_hole, I remember you. How goes the work on AMP?

And there were a few "gameplay" presentations the last few days that showed anything but gameplay. A real let down http://oblivionlost.deloo.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=153
Maybe I'll post about it later.
