I suggest that you also consider Vampire - The Mascarade: Bloodlines (FPP RPG developed by Troika, HL2's engine)

There's 2 main reasons why I'm not excited about that title. Troika is making it and they're using the HL2 engine. It's like taking your normal disappointment and multiplying it by 100. Troika still has to deliver a finished game for once, and anything related to Half Life 2 is doomed.

Also, I don't care much for vampires in the first place.

though you probably have good reasons for saying what you say, I disagree.

In my opinion HL2 engine looks fantastic; I'm judging by what I've seen on the lenghty presentation that someone recorded with a camcorder at the E3 presentation.
Next, I believe that Troika is a very good (if not the best at the moment) RPG developer. Arcanum and ToEE are good games (not perfect but decent-to-very-good).
Also, that they have the license for Mascarade, a thoroughly tested and appreciated RPG system, is an encouraging thouyght.

However, I'm not a vampire fan too. On the other hand I could enjoy playing a cRPG which is neither sci-fi(or cyberpunk) nor fantasy, especially as I don't like Star Wars too much so I'm not attracted by KOTOR.

If nothing else, Vampire looks interesting. Nobody knows much about the halflife 2 engine, so my judgment is reserved for the moment. I have never played the pen and paper game, though I have heard that it is a solid system and somewhat fun. Only thing that stopped me is the amount of really creepy people who play it. I think Troika will at least make a passable game, and if nothing else it will be a nice break from the fantasy rpgs I get shoved down my throat. I for one plan to buy it unless I hear/see some godawful news.

I cannot wait for STALKER. I just hope they won't turn into a video card scan like HL2 where they promise release and tell everyone and their grandmother to buy the new radeon!!!!!111! and then don't release a game. Here we are some two years later. Still waiting. HalfLife2 is dead as far as I am concerned. I'm sick and tired of them promising everything and delivering none of it. As for Troika... We'll see. That's all I can really say for that. Time will tell.
off topic? OMG YOU'VE BEEN CENSORED... yet you're still posting. MYSTARY!!!!
