Interplay sues Battleborne

Post by Ooe »

It seems that Interplay has messed up another agreement:

Interplay Entertainment has sued game developer BattleBorne Entertainment over a deal Interplay said was improperly terminated. The suit claims BattleBorne terminated without cause an agreement between the two companies to develop the game Airborne and refused to return a quarter-of-a-million-dollar advance from Interplay. BattleBorne declined to comment on the suit. Reuters says Interplay and BattleBorne struck a deal for Airborne in June of last year. The filing says Interplay promptly paid the advance. Interplay claims BattleBorne sent it a letter in September terminating the deal and asserting ownership of Airborne. BattleBorne then announced a publishing deal with Acclaim in December for the game. The suit - which claims breach of contract and unjust enrichment - seeks damages of at least a quarter-of-a-million-dollars plus interest and the return of the Airborne rights to Interplay.

Anything to get more money.

Can you really blame them though? They must have only thousands of dollars by now. Or close to it.
Endure. In enduring, grow strong.

I hope this company does screw them over; gives Interplay a taste of its own medicine.

It's a dog.
Closing our eyes forces us to look
At the darkness inside.
Our emotions always find us
Regardless of where we hide.

Isn't that the WWII Diablo-esque game that uses the Snowblind engine? Could be wrong, but that would be one of the few things I could think of for interplay to get pissy about.
