Fallout 2 vs. Counter Strike

[Game -> Update]

There's a <a href="http://gamespy.com/titlefight/matches/xl6.shtml">title fight poll</a> over at <A href="http://gamespy.com/">GameSpy</a> that pits a number of games up against one another. Well, <A href="http://www.interplay.com/fallout2">Fallout 2</a> is on the list and is currently behind Counter Strike, which only stupid people play anyway, and in second place. It'd be really nice if it were in FIRST PLACE, wouldn't it? So.. GO VOTE.

it's been sort of discussed for some time now (the gamespy titlefight), and I posted about this particular match a few hours before this news bit was added http://www.duckandcover.net/forums/view ... 1&start=40

oh well, perhaps it's good that thos news found a way to the DAC front page for when I tried to 'submit news' about it, the idaa of voting in such polls was cynically sneered at, well at leat to a degree. Does it make any sanse to vote? Well I don't know now, but F2 lost with Diablo 2. It might be not terribly important, but is just slightly irritating.

. I don't know how good it will do in the next round (if it gets there) though, it'll be up against diablo 2 (again) and starcraft.

Diablo 2, by far.

At least CS has some variation every now and then as far as maps go.

This is a ludicrously idiotic comment. Although you can plausibly fault Diablo II for repetitiveness in a number of other areas, suggesting that a game with a set of pre-made, static maps has more "variation every now and then as far as maps go" than a game that renders roughly 95% of maps in the game randomly is possibly the most stupid thing I've heard all day.

If you were being sarcastic somehow, then I retract my above comment and can offer as a defense only that Neon's past history of blatant stupidity would lead me to believe he's being sincere.

Seriously though. What the hell? Obviously FPS' will never have the Fallout feel for reasons blatantly obvious. I'm going to read a book now because it tingles my brain to wonder why , as Walt put it, thread necromancy takes place in such godawful threads.
