I've been playing a burned copy of Fallout 1 and 2 all these years. It'd be nice to get the real thing, y'know. And Fallout Tactics is something I wouldn't mind owning, either.
Wal-Mart used to sell 1 and 2 in a jewel case for $10, but I can't find it ANYWHERE. It seems new copies of Fallout have completely dried up or something.

Yeah, I've only been able to find one mod, I got a Mac, so I don't have as many choices as you guys.
I just got the fallout games a month ago and fell in love with them....I NEED MORE FALLOUT TYPE CRACK....I have a PS2, XBox, Gamecube, Mac OS X and a GBA. Dose anyone know of Fallout type games (besides PS2 Brotherhood of Steel) for these systems?

Fallout: Tactics is a good game, but it basically rapes all the concepts of the first two, such as how the Brotherhood of Steel was a group of well-armed survivalists trying to use technology to preserve themselves in the first two and get turned into the police of the wasteland trying to restore law and order in FOT.
It's fun to play, but be prepared for an extremely stupid plot (i.e. Beastlords, allying with mutants, etc.).
I would say it's worth your time if you like Fallout. It's not horrible. It's still fun to play.
Horrible would be Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel for the PS2/Xbox.

Yea, FOT is great because it takes the combat systems from FO1 & FO2 and makes it alot more advanced. The bugs, the unfinished features, the lame ass plot and the not so clever rewriting of the old things we know from the originals are its cons. Player made campaigns and missions are the answer to that though =). Also, the multiplayer part is great (besides the drugs, which means just avoid people who make druggie chars and play WW2 games and the likes instead.)Neon Dingo wrote:I would say it's worth your time if you like Fallout. I really, really enjoyed the squad-based stuff. I always had a stealth sniper, a guy with heavy machine gun for support, and two up front with an SMG or assault rifle to clear out rooms. Pretty good combat system, much more advanced than Fallout.
Some people enjoy FOT with one character, but the heart of the game truly lies in a squad.
All in all, it's very fun. I always had a bad experience with the multiplayer due to the fact that people loved to use the Browning M2 with power armor excessively. If you play with people you know, however, it's great.
My only gripes about FOT (besides the lame plot) is that the fact that it's really hard on your RAM and it crashes sometimes. Also, I'd say about 80% of the tag skills are useless in FOT. You simply don't need skills such as gambling, speech, or stealing in a game where you shoot everything that moves.
However, it does retain a bit of the same feel and atmosphere of the first, so it's a winner.
Missions such as the Raider camp have good design and allow for some really exciting fire fights. The fact that you can crouch or lie prone and how it affects your accuracy and visibility is very useful.
