Why Are these Games so DAMNED GOOD?

Deus Ex- Amazing immersion into a science-fiction world, complete with AMAZING gameplay, great graphics, some twists that were actually good, great story, etc. It's really too hard to list all of the positive aspects of the game, so maybe you guys can help.

Fallout-
The setting was amazing, as was the story. I will never forget dropping into the Glow, and searching through holodisks, and talking to the AI. It gave me a strange, but excellent feeling. I believe that this game gave me more hope for humanity, although that hope dwindled a time afterwards.

Myth: The Fallen Lords-
Before I played this, I didn't believe that anyone would ever pull off creating an interesting Fantasy story. The tale it tells is very interesting, and the quality of the writing, story and gameplay can leave you speechless at times. A real "Strategy" game, in my opinion.

Expand! Bring in more excellent games and detail why they're good, and why you like them. But try to be a bit descriptive, as my examples were only samples.

And I must ask the community a question: Is Deus Ex 2 any good? The cover gave me doubts.

Heroes of Might and Magic 1-3

These games are the fucking bomb. The first two were really well balanced too.

I agree with Kaufman.

Also, all strategy games by Paradox Entertainment if you're looking for something real deep and real huge.

Vice City: Glazed with awesomeness, beautiful gameplay, great music and voice work, and a general all-around warm-and-fuzzy thrill. And, refreshingly, not nerdy. OMG OMG OMG BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD NIGGA

Yea, I guess that Vice City is a good game when you don't think of it as a whore beating car stealing free-for-all and actually realize it has a plot (a decent one at that).

dont lie. i know it doesnt have a plot. i played it for 3-4 hours doing missions and all i noticed was that i was playing a pretty version of the original GTA.

System shock 1 or system shock 2? I never did finish the first one, and second was still pretty cool but a bit smaller. Now this was one fine game

Freespace 2 had what I thought was an engaging storyline, and the gameplay was fun as hell.

Final Fantasy Tactics was good as far as FF games go. It was different in that it was more a strategy game. I liked the plot, and the entire setup was cool, in my opinion.

Starcraft. It's STARCRAFT NIGGA.

Planescape: Torment is simply the best hack and slash CRPG ever made. Crappiest combat system ever, but awesome story.

Pimp-esque characters as well.

Both. I finished the first one about 6-8 years ago. Can't seem to finish it these days though. :confused2:
