Planescape: Torment is the best toilet reading ever. Too bad I'd have to drag my computer along with me to read it.. :(

There's a Planescape: Torment novel, but it sucks.

Planescape: Torment is a great game based solely on its strong story, but I wouldn't call it SO DAMNED GOOD on account of parts of the game being rushed, a lack of character choice and balance, and because it doesn't do full justice to the wacky Planescape world.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

System Shock 1 is a classic because it was so revolutionary. At the time, nothing like it had been done before; it introduced so many new concepts to the adventure genre. Now those concepts are the norm, so playing it today, it might not seem like a huge deal. The story (and the overall System Shock universe) is great, though.

System Shock 2 needs to played by everyone. Right now.

My addition to the list (since Vice City was taken) is SSX3. It's just one of those games that kicks ass from the first minute you start playing it. Perfect control, open-ended gameplay, utterly mind-blowing graphics.

Um... Expain? You make it sound like Fallout's the freaking bible, or some other non-denominational religious text. VAULT DWELLERZ = GOD'S CHILDREN?

Yeah, the guy on the cover looks like a total pussy compared to JC Denton.

I have to add that now that I've started playing Gothic II, I can sincerely recommend it... It's sweet, like Morrowind with RPG elements and proper combat, plus it runs quite smooth on my 'puter.

Finally...Someone else around here that likes Gothic.

Here's a question for everyone: What are your opinions on the game Gangland?

I've read a bunch of reviews from magazines/online review sites that say it sucks, and I've read a bunch that say it's good. Most of the "user reviews" are positive. I'm considering buying it..Supposedly a RPG/RTS/SIM game...The looks remind me of GTAII and The Sims...Sort of remind me of some of the screenies I saw of FOT, as well.

Opinions on Gangland?

Yes, Gothic pwns. Especially now, that I learned how to sword-fight properly and won't get killed by level 1 creatures while I'm level 6 myself :)

I've heard it's an interesting concept, being a mafia strategy and, or tactical game, but the technical side lacks quite a bit... AI works stupidly, too much mouse-raping, annoying glitches etc. But I have no first-hand experience, just stuff I've heard / read.

i gotta agree FFT was incredible, job system was great, it was so different from its time (tactics ogre was the only other one out and it sucked) had a great storyline with some great twists, I loved tactics.

Gnagland is great potential but with a really piss poor execution. It's like an amateur game!!

I rather liked Ogre Tactics, especially if you consider that it was made for the SNES. It was ahell of alot harder then Tactics.

I lived for Mortal Kombat. The only reason I got a PS1 is to play Mortal Kombat Trilogy.

I have to admit, though..Killer Instinct really kicked MK's ass when it came to innovation on the SNES...Great soundtracks, smooth animation, and an all-around great experience.

Gotta go for gothic as well. For a console game, probably Pro-Evolution Soccer 3.

Warp speed, Mr. Sulu! Those PS:T fans are the greatest threat since the Romulans! :evil_laugh:

One of my favourite console games would have to be Chrono Trigger for SNES. That game fucking owns FF VII. Great characters, plot and not a bad battle system for that time. The villian's dastardly deeds are some of the best in game history, going back in time and planting your children in different times is so cool - even for those crazy Japanese.

Fuck Sarovak, fuck Irenicus and fucking forget about Bob Page. Anyone who goes Blarrrg is king.

(Sarovak = BG I
Irenicus = BG II
Page = Deus Ex)

I was only addressing the comment that it was the best hack and slash CRPG ever made, when its not even hack and slash.
