Kill Bill Vol. 3, Oh Noes!

Post by Wolfman Walt »

Yea, part 2 isn't even in theatres yet and Tarantino is ALREADY planning for a 3rd installment of the "love it or hate it" series.
Heres the news story breaking the "news" if you want to call it that. Apperantly it'll center around Vivica A. Fox's daughter taking revenge so I guess Uma Thurman will be some evil bitch or something.

No, it was just a long film or something and he wanted to GET ALL DA MONEYZ

why he couldn't have made it 3 hours and made a good dvd though, who knows.

I think Tarantino is pretty over-rated. He can direct and write some goodish movies, but there's better shit out there. Just because they say 'fuck' and 'swell guy' and dance a bit doesn't mean it's the greatest thing since Elvis or whatever the fuck people raved about before.

I dunno. I thought Pulp Fiction was pretty cool. I never saw Kill Bill though.

Tarantino is pretty good. He's overrated, yes, but that's just because he has a bunch of imitators who make bad crime movies (Guy Ritchie, for example) and he has a lot of idiot fans (me, for example.) Kill Bill 2 looks neato, but number 3 is a stretch. It's supposed to have a bunch of anime shit thrown in, too, which makes it all the more unappealing.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

This is common knowledge. Miramax didn't want to distribute a 3-hour gore fest, so they split it into bite sized segments. It wasn't QT's decision.

I dont want a 3rd one, because it will probably suck. If Kill Bill 2 is good, it would be awesome if they combine 1 and 2 on one DVD stringed together.

:bored: *Groan* Tarrantino has a bunch of imitators!?!?!?! OMG you don't say! What is the world comming to, when a guy who honestly ripped off the works of John Wu, Tzu Hark and -specifically for Kill Bill- Kenji Misumi can't get away without being ripped off in turn?
Er, BTW Guy Ritchie is a lot less derivative of Tarrantino than he is of the two HK and one Japanese guys mentioned before and outside of that Godawful movie he did with his missus, his other stuff holds water rather well.

Egh, in the end "shigata ga nai"

Nice enough movie, Megatron, but not enough gratituous violence to be a true Tarantino.

This is a postscriptum and a request:
Megatron, I (and the rest of humanity) would be much obliged if you could do a David Lynch for us, now that Mr. Lynch seems to have wussed out and joined some Eastern love and peace religion (details should be in the Guardian archive...).

Lots of people have decribed Kill Bill a word with "hom", but it wasn't homage.

Strange, I swore he said himself it was a homage to 70's Kung Fu movies.

His word doesn't really count.

I've often said I'm cool. Doesn't mean I am.

So if Walt and I call it a homage, it is.

How the hell would it not be a homage? Nobody in their right mind would take the random CHEEZY elements of classic samurai movies and call them their own.

No, I think what SDM is trying to establish is that there's a different between a cheezy rip off and an homage.
