I think it was an ok series, I especially liked how they in each episode focused at a specific person /part of the unit.
The episode about the medic and the one when they are in that forrest in winter are my favourite ones

Yes, awesome serie. They are re-broadcasting the entire series here too on natinal tv. Going through it a second time now and still I' m amazed at the marvel of cinematography used within.

The one in the forest during the winter is my favourite too. I kind of like the way they delve into the personality of their characters without forgetting the whole plot around it.

I actually own it on DVD, my parents and myself are Diehard fans of BoB. I thought it was actually really good and did a pretty good job mixing facts with action. Ofcourse.....when you have a war, thats not ALWAYS hard.

Steve - I thought it was an HBO original, not showtime.

I caught it last year when it hit Canadian TV and it was really cool. Definitely worth watching.

It's a good TV series but I just can't help thinking how SPV was better when I watch it.

I actually liked BoB better despite the lack of a Omaha beach landing. Maybe its because I got to know the characters better over the course of the series and I just found them more likeable. Actually could be acouple of reasons, but the point still stands, I own BoB on DVD and I save SPR for when its on TV.

I've seen none of the above..The only war movies I watch are from The Duke. Unless you count that 20 minutes from Forest Gump?

I always liked "Bridge on the Rive Kwai" and "Hell is for Heroes" for classic war movies. Ofcourse ALL of the Dukes movies are the best stuff known to man. You can't beat John Wayne.

I actually saw that episode about the medic(the one with the little black girl right?) last night and it REALLY didn't impress me at all. Looked like some cheap movie with second-quality acting.

HBO/Showtime, I always get it mixed up. :) Thanks Walter.

SPR was one of the first DVD's I bought (after Matrix, tee!), and that just has an incredible emotional energy mixing with the action. This is whats doing it for me with BoB...its hard to compare the character development of the two when you have 5+ hours versus 2, but caring for the characters in BoB is huge, though arguably daunting as I'm still wrapping my head around who's who. :)

Cheers

Yea, I wanted to mention that you have alot more time to figure out the characters, especially being that some have about an hour dedicated to them basically. Lets not mention these were actual people, so we have a pretty good pyschological profile to go with from a variety of people plus a definate beginning, middle, and end.

Edit:
The one with the medic was actually the only one I didn't like. I guess I'de like it more if I was into medics or something?
