Fallout 3 still a go?
[Company -> Update]
Captain Vaporware, otherwise known as EvoG, passed this bit of news along.

Today Interplay released its 4th quarter 2003 results and apart from
the usual digits & numbers (Interplay seems to be doing better, but
still has financial hurdles to overcome) the real interesting bits came
during the conference call disclosing several new titles. The fact that
Interplay wants to focus on console titles is no surprise, neverthless
KingPin 2 is in the works, but also new titles in the long running
Decent & EarthWorms Jim franchise. Most important of all, an external
studio is working on Fallout 3 (although not set in the typical D&D
universe due to the Atari/Interplay dispute).

This of course begs the question as to WHO might be developing FO3. Moreover, who would be dumb enough to develop for Interplay after the way they left Reflexive Studios (Lionheart) and Microforte (Fallout Tactics) in shambles thanks to treating their agreement like toilet paper.

Who do you think the patsy is? DISCUSS!
We'll see if Kingpin is commercially viable. Nowadays, it usually takes more than nifty graphics to support an FPS, and in Kingpin's case, the mod community kept the game alive for a while (more than it deserved, as far as i'm concerned).
As for FO3... i don't think i care anymore. I've become overly uninterested in it quite a while ago. Can't say i'm not curious, but at the same time, i also can't say the curiosity is overwhelming.

WTF is that supposed to mean? like fallouts are set in D&D universe?Killzig wrote:... Fallout 3 ... not set in the typical D&D

all the franchises mentioned are interesting though, but what crap can we expect from the present interplay on the other hand.
Yeah what the hell is this? It's not connected to D&D in any way... OMG RPG = TEH DND? They need to think things through before slapping it on the internet and calling it "news."Spazmo wrote:I'm glad they pointed out for us that FO3 won't be in "the typical D&D universe", because I was kinda worried for a minute there.
off topic? OMG YOU'VE BEEN CENSORED... yet you're still posting. MYSTARY!!!!

You know, this isn't too fafetched... if you rename Super Mutants to Ogres, Ghouls to Slow Elfs, the ocasional gravity challenged character to Dwarf, and the Chosen One to Bhaalspawn, i think we can have something great in our hands!

Oh FUCKING Great.
Now kids... remember... If you can't say something nice, you obviously have been here too long.
That aside, who is investing in Inertplay? Their product lines are crap, their business plans are even worse... Do they have money anymore?
What upcoming games do they have?
WHAT KEEPS THEM ALIVE?!
That aside, what news do we have about their sales?
