Coffee, and how?
Coffee, and how?
By being a consumer whore.
Actually I'm just a tad curious, how do you lads like your coffe, and why?
Myself, I prefer it black and oily, no sugar and as bitter as a newlywed lass who has just found out that her husband humped her sis and mom at their wedding (while her daddy watched).

Depends on the hour. Strong and bitter in the morning. It must have a strong aroma or I won' t wake up easily.
Later on I prefer to drink it with a cloud of milk and some sugar.
I only drink fresh minttea with loads of sugar.
Favourite brands must be Douwe Egberts and Chat Noir but sometimes I like to grind beans myself. The smell you get from this is uncomparable to ready made coffee.

Alternate Relativistic Brewing
Sometimes, it's a near rolling boil of water into a drip funnel with a HEAPING tablespoon or three/four/more EXTRA, above and beyond all conventions of polite taste: FOR Luck, the Queen, and the Horse you rode in on.
The oat bag is in the corner ....
Sometimes, it's a mass consumer Steam Punk Aspiring Ersartz Expresso Simulator. But all that fussy measuring and the "frappe'ing" of oil-ly black beans is ""too much like work"" . And, the flash backs to metering out by the gram, stimulate the biological -no time to waste--WASTED-- "midlife" clock that dope slaps the juvinile whine for "24-7" self medication.
As to mixing ...
I opt for straight up on the side ... chunks ... fine lines ... or cubes ...
Be it milk or cream, lemon or lime, chocolate, sugar, ....
Cubes?
The sugar cubes are for that "High" Horse you rode in on.

Staight black, it's the only way. Sometimes I use milk but not often and not for any real reason.

Sadly that's how my almost always ends up. I'm too lazy to actually make real coffee.CloudNineGT wrote:Just fill about a fourth of the cup up with instant and add water. Thats how complex my coffee gets.

I prefer the original Denny's Blend coffee...Black, of course. People who went to Denny's back in that period of time can respect this messy cup of coffee grounds, spit, and dirty water.
About 4 years ago they switched to Millstone and stopped producing Denny's Blend Coffee. Luckily, me and my buddies snagged the remaining crate before they dumped it. Only 1 bag remains. When I die, I will be cremated, put into the coffee, and served to my friends.

I take my coffee like my women. (Oh, the pain.) Black and straight.
As for brand? It doesn't really matter, the soul purpose of coffee is to give me that extra jolt during the day, late at night or at 6:30 in the morning.
Tea is a different matter, I usually go Jean Luc Picard style -- Earl Grey, hot. I'll add a massive heap of suger and a lemon slice then? It's all cool. I'm not much of a tea drinker for some reason.
I guess Coffee owns.

That reminds me of a completely off-color song I wrote a few years ago. Can't remember much off the top of my head, but the chorus lives on within me and my buddies:
From "Ode to M.L. King"
(chorus)
Martin Luther King was a Man lovin' Man
and a Man lovin' Man was he.
He liked his men like he liked his coffee:
Hot and Black and Free.

Your sig is annoying, Mr. Green.
I drink my coffee with a little bit of milk (never cream) and maybe some sugar. Strong is best, though I'll drink anything. I like my coffee like my women, too... hot, brownish, and, uh, sugary?
And, as coffee houses go, Starbuck's and Tim Horton's are both shit, Second Cup is okay, Timothy's World Coffee is better, and the indy places with shitty modern jazz playing in the background are best.

suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

Indeed, quite the jingle.
And yes, one can picture chef humming that tune while preparing todays meal.
Has anyone ever tried decaffeinated coffee?
Doesn't that kindda defeat the whole purpose of this lovely bewerage?
If you have drunken, or are still, pray tell me.
Is it as awful as it seems?

I don't drink coffee to stay awake, or to even brighten my day. I drink it because I like the flavor. There are a few decaffeinated blends that taste similar to the real thing, however finding them takes time and an iron gut.
Most decaf sucks. A few brands, like Yuban, are actually average. None really compare to the real thing, but there are some that come close.
I was actually served decaf one night at Denny's as a joke, and I spit the stuff out the second it hit my tongue. They were testing to see if I could tell the difference. Bastards.
