Fallout.

Actually, no I can't. Apart from Fallout and Arcanum I don't like too many RPGs. (unless you count System Shock 2).

I bought TOEE for $10 at Circuit City. I haven't played too much of it but it's sorta ok. I never even finished Arcanum - it doesn't hold the interest for me that a Fallout does.

I finished Arcanum twice. Once as a mage and again as a tech. However reaching the lvl 50 cap 3/4 the way through the game both times sucks royally.

Actually, now I remember another RPG I played quite a bit.

Knights of the Old Republic. Despite the stupid dungeon crawls in some parts, it was ok.

Yeah, KOTOR was alright. It's more of an action RPG though. You might want to try..... Nevermind. I just realized there are no RPG on the market.

Hm, you could get the 'hack' that raises the level cap to 127?
You can get it at Terra Arcanum.

Speaking of that.. How long is TOEE in terms of gameplay? 40 hours?

Hm... Kotor was ok and if you're into that kind of thing, then Morrowind (*with* the expansions, otherwise it gets boring too fast) is a valid option. Those are light shit, though. If you're looking for real rpg's, I guess there are none.

What does the 2 expansions add to Morrowind? Aren't they like sequels storywise, so you don't get to notice them until you finish the original?

You can play them right away... They provide more items, weapons, enemies, areas to play etc. You know, stuff. You don't need to complete the original Morrowind before 'em. The game's kinda strange, because you can do anything you want in any order you want, with no kind of logic anywhere.

No. Think Tales Of The Sword's Coast for the first Baldur's Gate. You may know that TOSC added a couple of new towns and Durlag's Tower and these areas had no real impact on the story. Instead, the expansion pack was designed to spruce up Baldur's Gate and that's the purpose behind the 2 Morrowind expansions. All Bethesda is doing by Bloodmoon and Tribunal is trying to add to the shelf life of an overrated tech demo.

Morrowind was acceptable until you realize that it sucks. Which shouldn't take toooo long. Basically the idea is to occupy you with sidequests but eventually you realize (once you've beaten all the sidequests) that the main plot it self is about twenty minutes long and as deep as Britney Spears' personality.

Yeah, I was in awe with Morrowind in the beginning, when I joined that assassination guild and devlopped my character, but then I got onto the main quest, realized a rogue characters blows shit and got bored with the 7 temples quest.

I didn't even make it to the 2nd town before I got bored of Morrowind.

And, yes. I know about the lvl 127 hack, although I don't play arcanum enough these days to grab it.

You poor, poor thing.

Really ? I had fun for about a half-hour, creeping around and stabbing things in the back. Then I uninstalled it. 'Twas amusing enough, though not the making of a 'great RPG' in my opinion. :drunk:

I'd call it action/adventure. RPG is not suitable.

.. And I would agree without argument, jetbaby. Few contemporary titles could ever be rationalised as RPGs. :drunk:

Don't take my words out of context Blargh. You speak as if I enjoyed Morrowind.

Well, if the first-person smack 'em up action/adventure/rpg'ish is your thing, I suggest trying Arx Fatalis instead. It beats up Morrowind any day now and actually has an interesting story. Think of Ultima Underworld redux and you get the idea.
