New news scripts

<strong>[Community -> Update]</strong>

Saint decided to recruit me as "guy who gets the php stuff back in order", so here I am. I'm just testing stuff, so ignore this.

*snip* Nevermind. Incidentally, where did the delete button go? Looks like someone isn't very good at his new job.

Hah, I can see the delete button just fine. I blame your problems on user error.

Uh, if the admins can see the delete button, but not regular users, then it's your problem. By that I mean that you need to fix it to restore the forum to its full functionality.

Delete permissions for the news forum are on "mod". Meaning moderators can delete stuff. It was like that before I ever came here.

No, I'm referring to the function where a regular user can delete his post, if nobody else has posted since then. Useful for getting rid of double posts, etc.

Yes, I know. And the forum permissions for *this particular forum* are set to disallow that. Try it in general discussion, it'll work fine there.

This is about the third site you've rolled that news script out on now, isn't it Calis? :D

Good stuff, though the new forum layout reminds me a bit of NMA.

This is the forum lay out DAC's had for a long, long time. Before NMA even used PHPBB.

DU, yup, it is. Third time now.
We two should bundle our forces at some point and turn my stuff + your stuff into a neato game site package, and put it on Sourceforge or sumthin'.

By the way, I don't know if you noticed, but the DAC news script now has access to the RPGCodex game / people / company database as well (through Javascript, but still). If you want, you can get that for T-A as well.

Any possibility of having custom titles back?

Except my stuff doesn't quite work yet... Well, I do have a neat (and possibly some-what excessive) permission system which partially works (you can set the the permissions with it but I haven't gotten around to writing the function that actually checks it...) and I also have some neat ideas... Oooh! I do have a page that lets you add game details to a database.

If I ever get it finished though, absolutely.

I'll get back to you on that. I have to make a working site first. Though I'll have a poke around DaC and check out your scripts. It'll be interesting to see what you did for a few things and compare them with how I've been building my own systems.
