If you wanna try Gothic 2 better to play 1 before, 'cause it helps getting used to the world (G2 is almost at the same place as G1, but much greater area) and the system. And G1 is very entertaining! (Can't make a difference bw G1 and G2 in quality of gameplay so it worth playing both)

I could only get the German version when I decided to but I found a patch that was meant to change the demo of G2 into english but it was good for the entire game (don't know how) except for a few dialogs...

Already completed Gothic 1 it wasn't that difficult to find *cough*overnet*cough*. I'm not really sure if I fancy playing through Gothic 2, apparently its just as linear as the first one with all three paths combining into one pretty early, plus the combat system is too fucked up.

Yeh, it's on suprnova, but I think I already capped both my download and upload limits for the month, and each extra gig is 7.95$ CDN.

I dunno, Gothic 2 is pretty neat and fun and there are a good amount of options. I'm playing through it without using any online guides or maps or anything and it's fun just to wander around and do things.

I havent played Gothic 1, but they explain most things relating to it in-game and in the manual. Gothic 1 is out of print too, so you're only going to find it online (either online retail or download).
