Interplay still alive

Post by Mr. Teatime »

[Company -> Update]

Luke Haase has emailed one of the people on the Raging Bull forums. In this thread, frymuchan pastes an email he recieved:

Most of what you're asking about is hypothetical, and nothing I can really
officially comment on. You're right...things are strange with no offices or
employees or web site...and clearly things cannot go on like this
indefinitely. However, the two recent announcements, along with management's
work underway now, provide at least some reason to believe things will
change somewhat soon. The definition of "soon" is what is debatable.

As I am saying far too often the past few months, sorry I cannot be more
helpful or specific

Why won't they die?

EDIT by Saint_Proverbius: IPLY.OB is still only 3.5 cents per share, even after getting the ph4t ch3ck from Bethesda. So, HAH! HAH!

I'll tell you what's hypothetical: Interplay existing.
They need to face the facts, and come to terms with there death.

I don't think it has anything to do with not wanting to face the facts, but mostly about some investors trying to make their investements less shitty.

It's the typical zombie movie plot:

Interplay becomes the undead and finds a victim in Bethesda. They bite Bethesda and then Bethesda becomes undead too. All the while the Caen brothers are moaning, "Brainssss, must.....eat.....brainsss....."

Susan is right, though. These guys are clinging to every bit of news and saying it's a good thing for the company, even when it's not. Hell, they were saying that when Atary yanked the D&D distribution rights from Interplay, it was a good thing because Interplay must have SOLD them or something. In reality, Interplay just didn't pay Atari so Atari pulled them.

I don't see how they could say there's any gold lining to any of this considering IPLY still lacks office space.

Are there any guesses as to how much Bethesda might have paid for the Fallout license? Was it enough to help Interplay manage any of their outstanding debts?

All the news stories say the amount is "undisclosed".

Perhaps someone could ask one of the Bethesda devs about a ballpark figure?

Fallout: Peice of shit. A Console based FO spinoff that Interplay lost a shitload of money on.
Viperblood wrote:And what about fallout 3 (if interplay is out of the game)
Interplay's canceld Project Van Buren was FO 3. Bethesda Softworks aquited the rights to the Fallout Lisence. Theyre doing FO3.

And you know this...... how ? The game is still in fucking pre-production.

Shut the fuck up until you have a FACT to base a FACTUAL argument upon.

Yes we (we being true FO fans) HOPE that FO3 has the same feel of 1 and 2, but its still to early to tell.

You think it could have been that much? I mean, since FO2, nothing happened to boost the license or anything. It's old now

It's still an appealing license, no matter how much shit Interplay managed to drag it through.
