<b>George Romero</b> likes to shoot his movies in <b>Pittsburgh</b>, and following the theme of his previous zombie films, <b>Land of the Dead</b> was to be no different. The budget didn't turn out to be big enough, unfortunately, so he's headed to <b>Canada</b>.
<br>
<br><blockquote>"I can't tell you how disappointed I am, and George is incredibly disappointed," producer and Pittsburgh native Bernie Goldmann said. He is president of Atmosphere Entertainment, which will produce the movie.
<br>
<br>"We all very much wanted to make the movie in Pittsburgh," he said, but it came down to money, and going to Canada will save millions, with the exchange rate and a government tax rebate of $1.5 million to $2 million. Goldmann said a new Pennsylvania bill, designed to lure filmmakers to the commonwealth, is "imperfect" and couldn't guarantee the same return.</blockquote>

I guess there are parallels with the game industry, with some people wanting to follow their art rather than going for the money (thinking of <b>Tim Cain</b> here, though I'm not sure how fair a comparison that is).

Aww--not Canada! WHAT A TERRIBLE THING IT IS TO BE IN CANADA! WHY OH WHY!
I mean, okay, so they couldn't afford Pittsburgh, but they make it sound like shooting in Canada is equivalent to the death penalty. Given that Pittsburgh is an incredibly ugly industrial city, I'd be eager to get away from all the smog, but hey, I'm just a Canadian.

He's never got the money he needed (remember Day of the Dead?). Besides, I love his movies and all but I don't think he should make another. The whole OMG ZOMBIES LEARN approach he takes and will most likely build on is idiotic at best, to me.
off topic? OMG YOU'VE BEEN CENSORED... yet you're still posting. MYSTARY!!!!
