Sad news.
With my old hdd fried because of a power jump I think that I won't be able to release 1.06. There weren't any back-up copies of this so I'm afraid that the project is... dead.

Sorry everyone.
Thanks goes to all of you who helped me with it and waited for it's release.

There is a slight hope however, one of his beta testers still had an old version of the patch, but still missing the Abbey and EPA maps. So a remake of it is possible but would take nearly as long as it took to make the original in the first place.

Sad news indeed.

Its not really his fault, its just one of those things that happen sometimes. Sometimes people do take backups but dont test the backup, it then turns out that the backup was faulty, by then its too late. Its a lesson that most people learn the hard way.Blargh wrote:FECK.
It must be nice to be unfettered by the burden of common sense, no ? As much as I appreciated the work that went into these patches, Celestial really is a twat for not backing up. Nonetheless, I shall continue to have some hope, mainly for the EPA.
I've known bussinesses that have been backing up their data for the last couple of years on the same floppy disks. For the record Floppy disks are notorisously unreliable

@ wild_qwerty - While I concur that this dire event is not Celestial's fault as such, I do believe it is particularly foolish to not make any backups of one's work. Not having a backup (and equally importantly, not testing it) is effectively an invitation to hardware failure induced data loss, and other similar issues.
As you wrote, most learn this through the harsher of two paths, yet as most humans are idiots, is it not both more convenient and far less painful to learn this lesson from the mistakes of another ?
In the end and hard work aside - Celestial has at least provided an example for those of us who observe to mull over, if necessary.![icon_drunk :drunk:](./images/smilies/icon_drunk.gif)

where could one find these unofficial patches?
There are no 'knowns'. There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.

dammit to hell!!
They have the 1.05 patch but not the 1.06 one. I am dissappointed at this recent turn of events because I was looking forward to playing something that I know would have been badass. Sadtimes. :ashamed:S4ur0n27 wrote:www.nma-fallout.com
