Fanout: Press Release
Fanout: Press Release
[Game -> Mod News (DO NOT USE - use MOD > UPDATE instead)]
<a href="http://www.duckandcover.cx/forums/profi ... -Player has today provided us with a press release for the game dubbed 'Fallout 3 By the Fans', Fanout

Howdy, and welcome to Fanout's first ever monthly press release. While I intended to have a scheduled flow on information to the public, I suppose I can credit Mutants Rising nonetheless for the idea of a monthly press release. It is a good idea. A project like this lives and dies on community support. We are all volunteers, whose efforts, ideas and hours come from the community. If it were not for the Fallout community, it all its strength, this project would not be possible. I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am for the support we have received already.

Here's hoping it does well,

We spent several weeks deciding what name we'd use. It wasn't an easy task, though... we meant to convey something deep, that carved itself into people's minds and left memories of Fallout. Something that would represent the tradition of the game, while bringing evolution along with it.
... Which is to say, we just took the name that was less corny out of all the suggestions.

Your idols speak so much of the abyss, yet your morals only run as deep as the surface.

The name is still icky. By the first time I saw your website I thought it was some kind of a sick contribution to the Van Bureu or Bethesda's Fallout game, because it wasn't going to be anything like the hardcore fans wanted. Therefore: Fan - OUT! Get out, you fan, out!
Yeah. That's the first impression I got.

Hey, don't get me wrong! When I figured out what you're project really was about, I was all for it!
The name just struck me, in a negative way... FAN! OUT! Out, you fan, you! Get it? Maybe I think too much, but that's what it literally means. Fan out. Fanout.
So I thought it was some kind of a satirical humor site about Fo3's destiny or something at first. But, as I said, I got nothing against your project. Keep it going. I hate the name, but that doesn't really matter.
