[Game -> Update]

This thread at NMA is just bursting with a plethora of descriptions of locations that were to be in Van Buren.

kumquatq3, Huggies, and Puuk all posted some great info:

Hoover Dam: The largest city in the game and the
headquarters of the NCR government. The town is built
along the top and sides of the dam. Unfortunately,
Governor Dodge is a weak leader, and the ongoing war
with the Brotherhood of Steel hasn't helped his
popularity much. Still, he's determined to hold the
NCR together after the destruction of Shady Sands by
the Enclave.

Maxson Bunker: A small outpost of the Brotherhood of
Steel. The Brotherhood has become a shadow of its
former self. No longer the sole custodian of advanced
technology in the wasteland, the Brotherhood is
struggling to find a new identity. The current
leadership favors a return to power by wresting all
advanced tech from the hands of "lesser people" by any
means necessary. This attitude hasn't won them any
friends, and because many in the Brotherhood disagree
with such brutal methods, the whole organization is on
the verge of civil war.

he Nursery: The last hope of the wasteland, where
seeds and another genetic information, preserved from
the world before The War, have been stored. This
hidden valley is a lush, verdant place. Harold the
Ghoul has found his way here, but thanks to the tree
in his head, has been marked as an "interesting
specimen" and has been prevented from leaving by the
Nursery's security bots.

There's definitely plenty more where those came from. Head on over here to read all about it. Cheers guys!

Some... interesting ideas out there. I would like to check VB out... too bad.

[Edit]On the other side, there just don't seem that there are 'normal' cities out in the Wasteland. Or I just get impression like that from the descriptions.
Serious Business.

Can you blow it up or drive your semi through it? 'cause that'd be neat.

Yep.

They prolly had more bases and squads still in Vertibirds murdering out small villages I bet.

They just don't have to spend time at sea anymore, good for them.

If mutants fleeing eastwards can level the Hub, why can't Enclave troopers fleeing Navarro destroy NCR?
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Probably because NCR guards were equiped a lot better than the Hub's guards. Plus it wouldn't be too smart to set those vertibirds down near NCR to take out Shady Sands when you're fleeing and have no hope of refueling.

Yeah, but the Enclave troopers are, in turn, way better equipped than the NCR guys. And refueling their fusion powered vertibirds shouldn't be any tougher than refueling your car, though of course more fuel is required--assuming they were using their vertibirds at all.

Didn't MCA say that NCR had a "fleet of cars" or some such shit? I don't think they'd have shit on a bunch of Vertibirds, however.

Also, why would Enclave troops flee? Wouldn't they just lie low and try to rebuild? Maybe they'd infiltrate other societies like NCR and Vault City (since they already have a relationship with the Vaults) and form connections there, pulling strings as necessary.
