Aliens versus Predator - Spoilers

I got to go out and see AVP yesterday. It was a decent little flick that could have been done bettter if they would have let someone else direct it. Not to say the Paul W.S. Anderson is a bad director but it certainly seems that he pussed out to Hollywoods demands when it came to content like the PG-13 rating. It would have been way more coolass had it been rated R like all the other Aliens and Predator movies.

If I could get your opinions on AVP that would awesome as I am curious to here critiques of how good or bad AVP was in other peoples eye.

Yeah but we can't go back and change time. I wish Aliens 3/4 sucked balls they should have kept the storyline put together in the Darkhorse comics during the early 90's. Predator should have had Arnold and more awesome Predator kicking more ass scenes. But LlamaGod what was your opinion of the movie? You did see it right?

Well hell about 80% when they make a sequel it sucks just as mush when they merger two movies together as to hopefully kill off the series or lay down more ground work whoring it out at a later date.

I thought JvF was decent it was lacking in certain parts but other than that it was a cool flick Jason kicked Freddy's ass pretty well at the end but I think it wouldn't have hurt them that much to kill those damn kids off at the end. I however didn't like the fact they left it open to a sequel which will probably suck because I think we can predict that maybe Freddy will win also I don't think there is much room for those characters to grow besides the fact that they can try to kill each other over aver but it depends on who's doing what and when. So it will get redundant quick unless they find ways of making it interesting. They might but something tells me they won't because of what execs want.

So Kashluk let me ask you a question ok. Did you see AVP and if so what did you think?

Crossovers are cool only if A.they are done properly, B. Never been done before or C. It is so popular that people just don't care because it will be badass anyways.

That is the best damn news I have heard in a long while I just hope that it won't suck because the demands of hollywood to pussify the All American and Sometimes unAmerican badass. Now that might save F and J's franchise bigtime!!! I'm all about Evil Dead I just wish that they would come out with another Evil Dead set in modern times or perhaps in the AoD original PA ending because that would be the shiz.

I know some of you that posted said it sucked but what about the rest of you. I mean it is as bad as it could have been but then again it didn't have that R rating I was hoping for as it almost made me not go see.

AVP was bad. Predator <3's the species his race turned into breeding stock for hideous aliens.

Jason vs Freddy was pretty good, mostly because they didn’t pretend it was going to be epic. It delivered all the gore I wanted combined with reminders of past films. Fun. As far as I know Freddy vs Jason vs Ash was all rumor and has been discredited on Bruce Campbell’s site.

AvP wasn't bad all things considered, but it definetly wasn't great. I kinda disliked how every person was killed in like the first 20 minutes. I did enjoy the nod towards Aliens they made by including Lance Henrikson, who is one of my favorite actors, especially after "Millenium". Interestingly enough, Henrikson was originally supposed to be "The Terminator" but the role went to Arnie.

Speaking of Arnie, someone mentioned that he should have been in Predator 2. Well he was originally slated to, but he was busy making "Total Recall" (Which had to be made so I could justify me yelling "Get your ass to mahs" multiple times at random people down the street) so they hired Danny Glover. The novels however cast Dutch's twin brother in almost an exact environment. IE New York Cop, Predators come to town, shit dies, Arnie 2 kills the predator.

I did expect it to be alot worse then it was, so I was allitle suprised that it wasn't complete garbage. Just mostly garbage. I know I could write a better movie, but alas my lack of jewish blood for I would never make it in Hollywood...ofcourse who wants to be Jewish?

I did find the part where the predator made the shield and spear allitle stupid. The Aliens move faster then most humans are capable for Melee combat, so it just wouldn't work. The backstory for the predators being gods for earth is also allitle questionable canon wise. Or atleast if you wanna take the novels as canon.

Soundtrack was good atleast. It wasn't filled with shitty gothy rock or Linkin Park nu-metal and had some pretty good orchestrated pieces. Ofcourse I really liked the Hellboy soundtrack which I still haven't been able to find on CD.

Hmm aside from the plot and how all the Human characters were almost instantly disintigrated aside from the one I didn't care about, not TOO much to complain about. They did overuse "Slow mo" and such though. Also, as someone previousily mentioned, guys in a suit seem scarier then a CG alien.

Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash is something that is probably going to happen, actually. Bruce Campbell has confirmed talks are taking place, and he has agreed to do it on the condition that Ash 'wins', the trouble is getting permission to use the licenses as different lawyers and companies own those licenses.
