According to someone called Gary in a news post at Bloody Disgusting, at a horror movie convention where George Romero gave a talk, the new zombie-post-apocalyptic film Land of the Dead has a distributor, star, and release date.

...George Romero talked a little about his fourth zombie flick Land of the Dead. He reports that Romero cleared the air and said Universal will be distributing his film, which will hit theaters late fall 2005. In other news, The Horror Channel reports that Dennis Hopper will make his return to horror in Land.

And here is that Horror Channel report:

The film, reportedly budgeted at $16 million, is tentatively scheduled to begin shooting this fall.

Hopper's casting represents the first "name" actor to be cast in one of Romero's Dead films, which have previously featured relative unknowns. More casting announcements are expected to come in the weeks ahead.

Dennis Hopper was really good in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, I hope this rumour is true.
