Oh, so THAT's what peacekeeping is, is it? Getting the shit shot out of you, just so they can't shoot each other. Yeah. That makes sense. Do you at least get to shoot back, or are the Peacekeepers too peaceful?

Well, you only shoot when you're shot at or under imminent danger of being shot. Think of it as more like a police force than an occupying military power.

It's not bullshit, really. It's important work and it helps the normal people who struggle to survive in their everyday life. Unlike bombs and missiles destroying their homes.

But, yeah, well... Like I said. Think of peacekeepers as well armed police in a country on the edge of anarchy.

When my uncle was stationed in Germany he had don riot gear everyday from 5 in the morning until 9 at night just make sure there wouldn't be any rioters when the Wall came down. Of course there were people who would cause trouble especially anti-american germans that would throw rocks. At first my uncles CO was like "just ignore him we are here to make sure Peace and Order are maintained" about another week or so of those germans coming by and harassing them(throwing rock and bottles filled with urine) was about all it took for the CO and local german authorities to crack down on them. My uncle and his group went clobbered those damn germans and took off to jail. He doesn't remember what happened to them but it was probably something along the lines with jail for a looonnnnggg time or perhaps some fines. So yeah Peacekeeping sucks especially when thats not really supposed to be your job.
