New VB Concept Art

Post by King of Creation »

[Game -> Update]

The folks over at NMA have gotten a hold of even more Van Buren Concept Art. These shots show some tricked out desert vehicles and a poster for Vault 69.

Oh god, MCA's crappy FOB ideas have come to life.

I like that spiky VW bug though. As for the other car, it's not bad either.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

Would 69 really inspire one to look for a hot latex-clad bimbos in the 50's?

I'm feeling a few reservations about the vehicles. WHilst cool, they don't look Fallout-y, they look like they'd be happier in Wasteland 2. Vault 69 is funny though.

No, but perhaps it would inspire that in someone from hundreds of years in the future, when Fallout happens.

Anybody know what they 'stuck' into Vault 69?

Yeah, in the fallout bible it says: "of the thousand people that entered, there was only one man.". Nice. :drunk:

Vault 69 was all women and just one man or something like that. It was listed in one of the Bibles. The poster really sucks though. WTF was the VB team wasting time making crappo like that? The cars are "kewl" but would fit into a Road Warrior type game more than a Fallout-type game. I'm sure the weed that the VB team smoked was pretty good but with all good weed it really fucks with your perceptions of what should be and what shouldn't be.

The poster was probably just doodled concept art. I make a lot of that for my book that has nothing to do with anything.

What bugs me most about those cars is what they imply. Okay, so the PC can get a handful of vehicles running again, but would you meet gangs of (arg) road warriors in VB? If NPCs start Keeping on Trucking, that's a no-no. I hope these were concepts for PC vehicles.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

The problem with the Vault 69 poster I have can be summed up with something Gareth Davies said years ago about how stupid the vault experiments were. Most of them, Vault 69 included, are things that would have to be set up way in advance and wouldn't be good experiments because they're obviously experiments. You're going to know you're in an experiment in a lot of those cases because it's just so obvious that's what it is, so it wouldn't be a true test of anything.

I think perhaps just a rumour between the vaults of a Vault 69 that all the guys dreamed about would of been better than actually implementing the vault itself.

Yah I think the whole Vault 69 thing sucks ass. Too Fallout 2 eh.

I personally have no problem with vehicles in Fallout. Not canon whatever, I love Road Warrior. Remember there, the wars were over gas too, and gas was scarce as hell but they still all drove around in huge gas guzzling racing rigs, and nobody (seriously) complained. Of course, this was really very recently after the collapse of society so there were more cars working, but eh, who cares?

The Vault 69 poster is SO not a 50's style of advertisement, so it's pretty lame... And the cars are kind of interesting, but like Jimmy said they look like they're more from a Road Warrior PA than Fallout...

Seeing these just reaffirms my suspicion that VB wouldn't have had ANY semblance to the "feel" of FO1.

Been in a French castle once. They locked up a guy and 12 women, he died from a heart attack after 2 weeks.

69 women, damn man!

Maybe if you weren't an idiot, you'd understand that Road Warrior and Fallout aren't the same thing. It's the only logical conclusion to your statement, because only an idiot wouldn't see there's a huge difference between Mad Max's 1970s oil crisis driven plot and Fallout's 1950s pulp sci-fi plot.

Did you miss the part in Mad Max where they mentioned his car was the last of the V-8s?

What the FUCK. And did YOU miss the large part of the game that was inspired by Road Warrior? Maybe if you weren't an ultraconservative cunt you would understand that not every aspect of Fallout comes from 50's pulp sci fi.

Did you miss the part in Road Warrior where all of the bad guys had cars too?
Idiots wouldn't.
You sound like Rosh.
