Interplay update

Post by Mr. Teatime »

[Company -> Update]

Odin posts on NMA,

I've gotten some more reports on the ongoing drama of Interplay, evidently Herve Caen has decided/elected to change all employee salaries that he ows the employees to hourly (ie the "backpay"). The main reason for this seems to be that he then has "some" records, contrary to his statements to state officials that he has no records.

The employees have never been notified of this change, either now, or during the payperiod(s) in question. They have no means of verify these records, their accuracy, or the means upon which they accrued.

I'm actually not sure what this means, but I do find it funny when someone mentions Herve Caen, because you can guarantee it's not going to be complimentary.

People generally get paid in one of two ways; hourly or an annual salary. Typically hourly workers get paid a set amount per hour worked. Salaried workers get paid a set amount for the entire year. Their hours fluctuate and are usually more than compared to an hourly worker. Herve wants to simplify it to make those salaried workers appear to have worked a standard 40 hr work week when they probably worked many more hours than that. It is a difficult thing to justify because none of the salaried workers ever really kept track of their hours. In that situation it could go either way. I think most of the salaried workers would be happy to get anything at this point even if it was pay for only a 40 hr week.

So when is that asshole Herve Caen going to compensate his workers for unpaid wages? It seems to me that Caen is trying to procrastinate that particular case so that they will settle for less. Now it seems he will play former employees desparation off so that he can screw them out of more money and possibly pocket the rest. Herve Caen is a cheap ass bastard who deserves more than a slap on the wrist for fucking his employess over perhaps exemployees of Interplay should get first pick of all Interplay's and Herve Caen's property.

Also when is he going to start selling off parts of Interplay? I wouldn't seeing someone get ahold of the original fallout source code so that we can make easier fan games.
Ignore my warnings and pay no heed then your live will be ended shortly indeed!
