STALKER looks really good. It's too bad that the video was just a cam aimed at the computer screen from a crap angle.

Yeah, you're going to need a modern PC, but not an alienware. Give me 1200 dollars, and I'll build you a PC that will run stalker like a dream.

Building is incredibly easy. Anyone who has the brain to post an intelligent comment on the forums should be able to understand Piece A fits into area A1, Part B into slot B1, etc. It's pretty damn easy. As for ordering, all you have to do is do a bit of research and then compare prices between shops/websites.

I just ordered myself parts for a new puter this morning.
A 3gigaherz Intel processor (with hyperthreading), new motherboard, new HDD, one internal and one external, and 512meg of DDR. Not DDR-2 though. Twas too expensive :/
I'll be keeping my graphics card though, and whatever else I can gather from this1.
But I do think my new one'll run,like a dream

Within 6 months I hope to buy a new PC myself, fully build a fresh one, maybe use this one as excess storage, maybe a minor server for LANs and such.

I built all my PCs with the exception of the first one I got before Win3.11.

Current rig:
1.5GHz P4
1GB DDR
Radeon 9600XT (with Omega Drivers)
SB Live!
40GB HD
120GB HD
DVD/CD Burner
DVD Player

I put it together after my old one caught fire after an unseated RAM problem.
