GOD DAMMIT - Let's talk about prog-rock and Jethro Tull.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

Those bands listed cool sans The Doors I seriously think Jim Morrison is an asshole (yes I know he's dead and he's doing a damn fine job at being dead hell he's been dead for nearly 30 years now.)

Dude Franz you should give Barry Adamson a try. His stuff is pretty cool if your into jazz sometimes. If you have seen Lost Highway the you can hear some of his stuff during the movie and his website www.barryadamson.com there are a few free samples of stuff so enjoy and listen.

Lost Highway was wacky. Mulholland was better.

And! You're right, industrial is better.

Mainly I love keyboards, guitars don't do much for me. Fun to play but not to listen to.

Muhallond drive was better as it had more imagry in it than Lost Highway both sound tracks for each movie were excellent and were used in a few Shadowrun campaigns that I ran a few years back. I myself is an industrial/metal bass guitarist and I have to try like hell to keep myself above other bassist because the shit I play is just a little bit more demanding in fact Kazumi Watanabi and Flea are some of my inspirations. How they fit into my industrial scheme you'll have to figure out yourself.

I recently got ahold of Interpolls new album it was pretty cool music wise but the lyrics sucked as they were like emo-I'm-gonna-bitch-bitch-bitch -because-my-girlfriend-or-some-girl-I-know-is-negligent-of-my-feelings. In other words it was another The Cure knockoff made to suck because it is A.Not Robert Smith ,B.Sad Bastard lets turn OH SHIT I HEAR THE ICE CREAM TRUCK!!!!!111!1111oneone music and C.not really worth buying unless you call stealing or downloading illegally buying. 3 out of 5 stars.

Went on a random downloading spree just now. Found a band I really enjoy (It's probably somewhere on this list, actually)

JBO....Fucking great music. I'm glad I can understand a bit of German, too. Otherwise I'd be a poser for playing this full blast in my car.

I thought this was dead post. It brings tears to my eyes :tears: to see that people still post in this discussion. I recently picked up a self titled Killing Joke album. So far from what I heard. It has been pretty damn sweet.

ummm.... those of you who have mentioned industrial are on the right track but not quite there

the ultimate post-apocalyptic soundtrack would be performed by industrial ambient noise group known as zovietfrance. crazy shit, along the lines of fallout 1 / fallout 2 type ambience but ... different.

Some of the ambient stuff in fallout 1/2 was totally awesome. If someone could capture it, that'd be great.

Do I really have to eleborate what I listen to primarily? Since thats what the subject has drifted to anyways......unless someone actually considered Iron Maiden PA music.........theres places where people like that belong, the bottom of the Manhatten.

Franz - Any specific Jazz artists you like? I'm still a big Charlie Parker and Stan Getz type of guy. Louis Armstrong isn't bad either. Only modern Jazz artist I really listen to is Harry Connick Jr. and thats cause he's a pretty decent singer/song writer.
Harriers for the cup.

Not really... I don't know anything about jazz, I just like to listen to it once in a while.

Ryno: What type of Classical do you listen to?

"Pa, tell me again about how jazz sailed up the river from New Orleans..."

Where did that come from? And what about Blue Velvet, which had a way better soundtrack (and was a way better movie, to drive the point home) than the both of them?

Anybody here listen to blues?
