STALKER Preview

[ -> Preview]

IGN has posted a little preview of STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl.

In general, however it seems that the developers at GSC Game World are looking to implement as many of the cool things from the single player game into the multiplayer game. As we said, we only ran a small deathmatch game, but expect the full compliment of multiplayer modes like capture the flag or some variation. The team of Counter-Strike champions that are contributing to this game have definitely brought that game's sense of fluidity to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (you even get to purchase weapons and gear before each round of play) and this is not a bad thing, considering how gorgeous the new game is going to look by the time it hits in 2005.

The game looks to have a lot polish on it for a 2005 title we strongly suggests that the "Q1 2005" anticipated release date is for real. Well before then, we'll have much more on the multiplayer component of the game and plenty of hours logged fragging in the contaminated streets of Chernobyl.

You can read the rest of the preview here. They seem to really have liked what they saw.

Say what you will about the CS community, but the game does have fun and challenging gameplay, damnit. I'm inclined to think that if the single player turns out to be good, the deathmatch/CTF modes are going to be fun too.

@ Franz - exactly, rather it is the . . 'people' who play CS that make it intolerable, in my opinion. :drunk:
