Edit by Mr. Teatime: Due to shaky legal grounds, I'm not entirely happy with these scans being front page news. You've all seen them, anyway.

Is it just me, or are those the best fucking game graphics that I've ever see BY FAR? Jesus Christ. It's too bad they don't have digital screenshots.

I remember when Nintendo 64 came out, I was mind-boggled by the gigantic leap in technology from 32 bit to 64 bit, and I was sure we would never see that kind of leap again. I think I was wrong.

Gameplay? That's pushing it. These screens doesn't tell us more than Morrowind does. Bethesda hasn't come clean on their intentions yet.

Ive seen nearly as good graphics and a scale equal to what a few of those screens appear to have on games that are from 2000, so it isnt THT good (though the faces rock, by far.)

Did you see the one of the forest? Keep in mind, that's a mag shot. It's all about polygons per second. And the Xbox2 is undoubtedly going to be able to run this at a great framerate.

Operation Flashpoint, a PC FPS game, has forests of similar settings. While the detail isnt quite as good, it's still good.

Still I think it has great graphics.

so, what'll this mean for FO3???
though the graphics look good, I get a bad feeling about the whole thing.....
images of a tombraterish view emerges before my eyes, and a general bad feeling about the FO3 gameplay has now manifested itself.

Yeah, with that much energy and graphics work capable for a 1st/3rd person view, Im doubting more and more a true Fallout succesor.

We shall see. I'm undecided on bethsoft until they announce something. Agreed, if it's primarily a first/third person view, we can give up.

I'm already fairly pessimistic because of their decision to go multiplatform. Their assertion that the platform doesn't affect how the game plays only reaffirms my belief that they're muffinheads.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

The multiplatform thing sucks if true and I'm pretty pissed off about that, but I was including that when I said they're probably re-assessing their plans for FO3.
If the game still is multiplatform like ESIV is, then chances are it will suck.

I'm actually more interested in seeing how this game turns out rather than Fallout 3. At least they have their own series to maybe learn from and improve.

And you know FO3 willl be a quick total conversion of Oblivion. It has no reason not to be.

I don't believe there is no hope until they announce stuff like the simultaneous xbox2 development - ala KOTOR2 - the real time combat, or the third person camera. It's not a disaster in the way FOBOS was from the moment it was announced.

oblivion's kewl graphics are kewl graphics, but it doesnt say shit about FO3 gameplay.

BTW I'm glad to see MMRW back at DAC. I don't wanna be a brown-nose, but I think your news-posts and comments Max have greatly contributed to what DAC has been.

PS: MrSmileyFaceDude, is there a possibility you could post a digital screen or two somewhere? Just for everyone to feel some awe. I suggest some nicely lit facial expression and maybe that forest. You ca use these shots from that mag, so you don't reveal anything new. Also, you could post them at Bethesta/ES boards/site so that ES fans don't get upset, we just want a link.

According to http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/inde ... topic=3893

posting these scans may be illegal, if that's the case I'll happily take them down.

Yes it is, just place them in a forum discussion somewhere so they won`t notice them...

NMA once got a mag reporter replying at the newsbit that had scans from their mag, he was ok though, said he wouldn`t tell his bosses

Thanks. I hope to be around more often now. Not sure about doing news again because I need to be given access to the news script dealy, and I don't know who controls all that.
