I reiterate, how is "mushroom" a size? Mushroom is a shape, a "mushroom cloud" is generally in referance to an atom bomb, but it in no way a gauge of size.
I heard from my history professor that the explosion and the mushroom cloud were caused when they were blowing up the side of a mountain to make room for a hydroelectric dam. Explosives like that don't leave a 2.1 mile wide mushroom cloud. This coverup is utter bullshit and my bs detector is detecting some serious bullshit. I think they should come fucking clean for once or suffer the consequences.

Mushroom-sized could means a few inches high cloud. That's what they mean.

They after all possess the largest and most comprehensive arsenal of nuclear, and I suspect chemical and biological weaponry. An Economist article I read restated from some other source that North Korean weapons could reach the west coast of the US.

The Taepo Dong 2 missile has the (supposed) capability to reach the US West Coast, thats why there was the big hub bub about N. Koreas missile program + nuclear program. The actual range varies from source to source, one saying 3,650-3,750 km another saying 4,000-4,300 km but both say with a 700-1000 kg payload. This would actually put it in the range of Alaska and islands like Hawaii, but lighterweight variations can supposibily reach the west coast. The missile is effectively over 6 times that of the N. Korean Hwasong 6 scud missile.
The ICBM has actually been in development since 87 and as such has been around for awhile, so its not suprisingly that they probably have tested it and variations of it.
Too bad the Chinese still have longer range missiles.

Well, hopefully EU will impose penalty fees on USA soon enough, as decided by the WTO that they have the right to du, since the US government support of industries is breaking some trade agreement. Not that it will have(or should have) any effect on nukes and such things.
