Your personal later-game weapon preferences. [Fallout 1]
Now. I primarily started this thread to ask about a weapon in particular. That being, the RPG.
Is it really worth it? Normally I go with heavy weapons but it's usually a minigun or a flamethrower or occasionally I'll try energy weapons.
I mean the RPG is fairly expensive both the rounds and the launcher. You can't carry a whole -lot- of them and it seems like overkill on all but the toughest enemies.
I've read some fallout faqs here and there, but eh. I'd like to know some opinions of some of the people here on their preference for later game weaponry.

Energy weapons, hands down. The minigun is totally ineffective since high enemy DR/DT nullifies the low damage of each individual bullet. Flamers suck since they're very short range. Rocket launchers, of course, are worthless because of expensive ammo and reloading every shot. Nothing tops a turbo plasma rifle in Fallout.
I'm an advocate of letting one's words do the work instead, though if that fails - my character's hands and feet are usually reasonably efficient and adequate for whatever violent task I apply them to.
Either that, or a plasma rifle if I feel like powergaming.
And now, for some completely relevant onomatopoeia :
ZONK, WHAM, BIFF, THWACK !!

I'm not a big fan of the energy weapons so much. I think due in no small part to the fact that I neglect my guy's ability to use them decently through lack of skill point distribution. This would explain the difficulties I've always had later on in Fallout.
I just don't really like the idea of them. Perhaps because they're usually the same in most games.
I'd personally rather have a portable .50 cal machinegun.

I said nothing ofthe overall value of miniguns, I just said that plasma rifles totally kick ass at range, and that is not the case with miniguns.Ernesto wrote:You are offically my favourite retard. First you say Whoa bitch, Miniguns are kewl! and a second later you're abandoning them for Turbo Plasma Rifles?
Pick a side and keep it.
