Fallen Earth's newsletter

Post by Mr. Teatime »

<strong>[ -> Update]</strong>

Looks like there's a new newsletter out for the post-apocalyptic MMORPG that most of us will never be interested enough in to play, <a href="http://fallenearth.com/">Fallen Earth</a>.<blockquote><i>The world we’re producing is a game with a unique feel and atmosphere, and as we pointed out in our first newsletter, a game with a message. We are thankful to all of you, as you take our vision and message and make it your own. </i></blockquote>Can anyone tell me what <b>THE MESSAGE</b> is? Is it "<i>I pity the foo'!</i> "?

I rather wonder if Herve Caen is thinking of trying to partner with these fellows so he could released FOOL. All they have to do is add a few things to make it Fallout-ish. I'm sure Icarus Studios wouldn't mind adding the Fallout name to their game, might help them survive slightly longer, not to mention Interplay.

How’s that as a scenario?

I keep an eye on it. Combat, ground deformation, vehicles... could be slightly entertaining.

I don't get how they do ground deformation Red Faction style in an MMORPG. So if I take my rocket launcher and level an entire forest, does it stay levelled forever? If it does, well, that sorta sucks, and if the thing respawns after a while, that sucks too.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

We should buy it and reduce the earth to nothing with rocket launchers. We could probably do it in a few hours D:

The world is to be about 80x80km on release. It would take more than a few hours. And the ground 'regenerates' after a few hours, meaning no permenant changes... enough that you can dig traps, blow holes to use as cover, trenches etc.
