From <a href="http://www.fangoria.com/news_article.ph ... te>...a cast has been set for LAND OF THE DEAD, George Romero's long-awaited return to the zombie genre. Simon (THE RING 2) Baker, Asia (THE STENDHAL SYNDROME) Argento and John (SPAWN) Leguizamo will play soldiers who are among the living survivors in a walled city surrounded by a zombie-populated wasteland. The trio set out to do battle with the massing creatures in an armored vehicle called the Dead Reckoning (which was an early title for this project). Also in the cast is Robert Joy, a veteran of genre pics including AMITYVILLE 3-D, THE DARK HALF and the recent HELTER SKELTER TV movie, joining previously announced Dennis Hopper. LAND, which producing entity Atmosphere Entertainment hopes will launch a series of undead films, rolls October 11 in Toronto.
I have never heard of those actors, but the phrase "zombie-populated wasteland" makes me feel things that mere words shouldn't make me feel.

It's marvellous... Zombies, Heavily armoured vehicles, heavily armed survivalists, and a post-apoc setting... that's virtually every perfect component for my ultimate film. All that's missing is say.. a giant mech robot and a nest of giant spiders =D
I just fear the actors incapable... asia argento was okay in xXx, spawn was horrific, and... I haven't seen ring 2 O_o
I know Tom Savini, the special efects genius who did all the gore for the previous films, is cast as one of the squad...

Wow! I thought that Tom Savini was going to have a major role in LotD as a character. It's cool that they are getting some well knowns such as John Leguizamo, Asia Argento, Dennis Hopper, and Simon Baker. I just hope that the actors won't fuck it up. I don't they will but what I think and what actually happens are always two different things. And since filming begins in October does that mean that it will be out in 2005 or 2006? Sometimes movies keep getting pushed back like Exorcist IV:The Beginning. Well I wish George luck on this next venture and hope that it comes out badass.Mr. Teatime wrote:From <a href="http://www.fangoria.com/news_article.ph ... te>...a cast has been set for LAND OF THE DEAD, George Romero's long-awaited return to the zombie genre. Big names, Janus? Coherant or not , they're all just small time punks. Leguizamo is occasionally hilarious though so I'll allow it.
