Some News on Fahrenheit 451
Nope no link at all between moore and bradbury, but it should be noted that farenhite 9/11 was the first and only movie moore made where he had proof, and hardcore documentation of everything. But back to the movie, I don't think there's any such thing as a good cinematic version of a book. There's just so much our imaginations can do that a movie screen can't. THe only case I can think of where the movie was better than the book was "Logans Run" just because the book was so damned confusing.
Reagan smash!!!!

Fat retard monks? Hot gypsy momma? Explain?
That's a little city, I can rattle off quite a few books where there's a fairly clear-cut argument that the movie is superior - Clockwork Orange anyone? Movies can be a lot more evocative, and they can still leave a lot to the mind. It's a different format, that's all. The difference really boils down to who the director is. It's practically impossible for some technically-minded idiot like Peter Jackson or James Cameron to adapt a book to a movie so that the movie is better, while more intuitive and interpretive directors like KUBRICK and Cronenberg produce much more interesting results.Ranger wrote:But back to the movie, I don't think there's any such thing as a good cinematic version of a book. suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
Uh, shit. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091605/ - Name of the Rose (1986).
Check it out yourself.
I'm not even sure if we were talking about the same thing in the first place.
Do YOU mean this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0337688/ ?
