The Fall loses a publisher

[Game -> Update]

<a href="http://www.rpgdot.com">RPGDot</a> are reporting that:<blockquote>...Bigben Interactive has revoked the distribution agreement with Silver Style regarding the SciFi RPG 'The Fall'. Bigben said that it wishes to concentrate its efforts on the console peripheral and budget market. 'The Fall' will now be published by Deep Silver (a Koch Media label) in German-speaking territories. The game remains scheduled for a November 5 release.</blockquote>Hopefully this isn't too much of a setback as the game looks promising.

They still don't have a publisher outside of Germany or Russia, so it's not a big deal.

I'm still sad they managed to find another sucker, though.

maybe it's beacuse "the fall" does not feature much beyond combat-related stuff? it was pretty hard to convince the devs to implement a 'speech' skill, while they have 5 or 6 combat skills and weapons galore. too little role playing I say? and they're so fucking politically-correct, like "it's outrageous" to ba able to kill kids in a game, while they can't tell how it differs from shooting an innocent crippled octogenerian in the face, or killing innocent humans in general.
TFall might still be fun for its PA setting and kewl guns, but it's not going to a role-playing experience similar to F, P:T, or Arcanum.

Maybe because it'll be crap? Silver Style is one of the absolute worst design houses out there (evidence: Soldiers of Anarchy). Besides that, Carsten is a dickhead.

I liked Soldiers of anarchy.... It was an aproach to RTS that I had never seen, and I think that the style has promise if not the game itself.

Nonsense! There's been tons of RTSes that took the 'really shitty' approach. It's really nothing new.

I wasn't talking about the shitty approach I was talking about the limited ammo, being able to enter and leave vehicles, and the fact that you couldn't build anything, but had to scavenge for everything. If there's another game that does this please let me know about it, because as far as I know it's the only game that ever did that.

It was a squad combat game, that's pretty much what you do in a squad combat game. Like JA2, silent storm, maybe even X-Com? SoA was nothing new, and it was total shit just like the fall's going to be.

Well I see it as an RTS, I've played all those games you just mentioned (except for silent storm) and I see more rts elements than squad based (although they are there) I think you're just pissed that another Post appocolyptic game was released, and it wasn't fallout. I never had any problems with my game except for long load times. The voice acting was bad? Well duh the fucking game came from germany. I agree they could have used better but oh well.

But asumming that just because a company released something means that eveything they release is going to be like that is like saying that every game interplay releases is going to be like fallout. Just give them the benefit of the doubt is all I'm saying. If the fall comes out and it sucks, then I'll apologize to the entire forum, but otherwise it's just prejudice.
