More On Troika's PA Game
[ -> Interview]
NMA has posted an interview with Leonard Boyarsky, of Troika, concerning their mystery Post Apocalyptic title, along with a few other bits. There's also a new screenshot!

What are you calling this new engine?

We’re still deciding on that one. I’m in favor of “Troika’s super fantastic extra cool ultimate 3d RPG engine.

What kind of features does this engine hold?

Well, it’s full 3d, and it supports all the bells and whistles a next generation 3d engine should have – bump mapping, displacement mapping, normal mapping, real time lighting effects, etc. The way we’re planning on using it is in a 3d version of an isometric game (as you can see in the screens) where you can zoom in and out, but the angle is locked. However, the engine is capable of going to first or third person as well.

You can check out the rest of the interview and the new screenshot here.

Good interview, but not worthy of a 4 day heads up. If it had some new groundbreaking information like getting a publisher, and maybe announcing the game, the build up could have meant something.
The more I think about it the more idiotic posting about a "surprise" actually was. What difference would it make if they said "this weekend we'll have an interview with ____, so keep a head's up or whatever".
On the other hand, who gives a shit. Really. Everybody who doesn't have their heads up their ass predicted it.

The interview was OK I guess.
Yeah I guess it's kind of annoying Leonard sent Odin a screenshot and not me, but there is the time factor - maybe if I had done the interview now, I'd have gotten a screenshot. Or maybe he just likes Odin more.
Who knows. I think my interview is a much more interesting one anyway, taking into account it was the first time a lot of those questions were asked, and what the questions were, regardless of whether it was accompanied by a screenshot or not. DAC is the superior site, whatever Odin's 'contacts' may be

VoodooExtreme have picked on up this news here, but linked to us as the source. Strange. Either one of the staff here mailed them, or we've become an Official News Source!
Not that I'm complaining.

Interesting concept but the math is a little off. The third side would be 10 not five in the first two examples and in the last example would be 7.07..... Interestingly enough, the smaller the the segments the third side is divided into it still adds to a length of 10. Calculus may be used to add the hypotenuses of each of the smaller triangles as the lengths approach zero. One of those anomalies that shows the illogic in math.Megatron wrote:I think this is relevant to the topic at hand. In my hand.

Nobody likes you, Teatime. Perhaps it's because you're always wining about how you hate NMA, ever since they laughed at you and your shitty music.Mr. Teatime wrote:Yeah I guess it's kind of annoying Leonard sent Odin a screenshot and not me, but there is the time factor - maybe if I had done the interview now, I'd have gotten a screenshot. Now give it a rest already. Nobody fucking cares about 'which site is superiour'...

No, really, what the hell is all this shit about anyway? Did Odin once fuck Killzig and dumped him the next morning, or something? When the hell did all this 'DAC hates NMA' drama start?
No wonder the Fallout community has a bad name, you know, if even the two main fan sites can't seem to get along...
I mean, a lot of people post/read both forums anyway...
