Holy Shit. I Forgot About Worst Case Scenario

Post by Mad Max RW »

<strong>[Community -> Update]</strong>

I lost track of this thing after posting about an <A HREF="http://www.gorehoundinc.com/promo.html" target=_blank>amazing promo</a> for it almost a year ago. While searching out of pure boredom I stumbled upon the rebuilt homepage for <A HREF="http://www.gorehoundinc.com/" target=_blank>Gorehound Canned Film</a>'s comedy-horror zombie flick <B>Worst Case Scenario</b>. Good timing, too, because only a few weeks ago they announced the film is still in pre-production with shooting expected to start this winter along with other good news:<blockquote><em>The last few months we've been very busy pre-preproducing WORST CASE SCENARIO. The screenplay needed more work and we were glad to attach Miguel Tajeda-Flores. Miguel is a veteran, having written in genres like horror (ROTTWEILER, BEYOND RE-ANIMATOR, DARKNESS, FAUST, FRIGHT NIGHT PART II), sf (SCREAMERS), thriller (THE UNSAID, A HOUSE IN THE HILLS) and... Nerd Cinema (REVENGE OF THE NERDS plus two sequels).
<br>The transatlantic collaboration has been really fruitful. A lot of interaction between Miguel, director Raaphorst and writer/producer Oosterhoorn has resulted in a story adaptation that we're really exited about. For the home stretch (to a finished screenplay) we'll need at least another month and Miguel will be coming to Holland in October to wrap things up.
<br>Because new Guerillas join every day (now 1.800+), offering their services, body & soul, we have to keep repeating: BE PATIENT! We've gotten incredibly far: we've made a 35mm promo for as good as nothing, we've landed a Hollywood financing deal, we're re-writing a knock-out screenplay. If we can just keep it up a little bit longer, we are actually going to pull this off. And we'll get back to each and everyone of you. We can't promise starring roles, special-make up jobs or music score commissions, but WE DO NEED ARMIES OF NAZI-ZOMBIES & CRAZED HOOLIGANS!</em></blockquote>The premise, in case you're not familiar with it: "In the final of the World Championship Soccer Games Holland and Germany are going to war. A group of friends tries to get away from the nationwide frenzy, but traveling to a North Sea island they wind up in situations far, far worse." Sounds like something along the lines of <B>Shaun of the Dead</b>. Although these guys win the award for coolest looking goddamn zombies ever.

I think I'm gonna sign up for this zombie nazi army, because the film being shot only a short distance from where I live. A friend of mine is actually in the promo, the zombie dragging himself over the beach with his arms.

Whoa... Screamers. It was a really good movie if you ignore all the bad parts. If you know what I mean.
Serious Business.

I initially misread "amazing promo" as "amazing porno", so the first read through this confused me.
"You're going to have a tough time doing that without your head, palooka."

Aye, Screamers is fun =D

This looks.... Entertaining. Though they look as much Frankenstein as Zombie.

Screamers is fun in the same way VIRUS is fun... robots, violence, cheesiness, amusingly nasty looking SFX in places...

Tremors is sort of in the same genre but it doesn't try to take itself seriously.

The only good thing about Virus was Donald Sutherland.

Ordered the promo DVD a month or so ago, happy owner of it now :)

Glad they've gotten a decent size budget to make the real movie now.
