[ -> Update]
Misleading Lands is a French game currently in production, set in the Fallout universe. Renegade, Project Leader/Founder and DAC community member, has provided me with a great description of his game:

A Little History

Misleading Lands is a French amateur project which started in July 2003 on a RPG forum with AgariX (3D Artist), MacDuff (Artist) and myself (Programmer, Webmaster and Project Leader).

The Scenario

Europe had been disolved[destroyed?], but France and Germany decided to build a large network of anti atomic bunkers to protect the VIPs and the scientists who worked on the last technologies (nano-technologies and biotechnologies).
The scenario takes place in Europe in 2437, 360 years after the beginning of the third world war and the player is a soldier, a descendant of a soldier who was protected in the network of bunkers... he thinks.
Well the soldier is a recruit of a "European Brotherhood of Steel" and he have to prove himself. For this, he'll have to cover the Wasteland and help (or not) the survivors. The liberty of the player will be large and the game will not be linear (we have about 4 endings right now).

I prefer to let future players discover the game by themselves. We're thinking of doing a US translation (except for the voices).

Technicals Characteristics

We're using the OGRE engine for the graphic interface. Its features (in english) are here. To resume, it's a powerful engine which use BSP maps, FSAA 16x (I think so) ans AA 4x.
ODE will be used to simule physics and collisions, it's a really powerful library which is used by professionnals games like Blood Rayne 2.
And to finish, FMOD will be used for the sound interface. SilverGrom haven't chosen the others librairies.

Work in progress

Actually, we're working on the map of the bunker, the first level of the game. It's composed of 4 floors and of a small cathedral.

We're also working on a cinematic, which will be the intro of the game. The cinematic will run on the OGRE engine and video-captured to make a .avi.

The Team

It's the core of our team. AgariX and MacDuff have always work on the project whereas a lot of members left the project for time issues or personnal causes. All the members are French and live in France. Most members haven't met themselves in real life, although a few have.

The team is as follows :

Vedder (23 years old) : Project Leader, Programmer
SilverGrom (17 years old) : Lead Programmer
Zeke (13 years old) : IA Programmer
MoJo (20 years old) : Lead Level Designer
Fooshi (23 years old) : Programmer, Level Designer and Lead Sound Designer
2NDSKY (18 years old) : Sound Designer
MacDuff (19 years old) : Artist
McDan (25 years old) : Artist
AgariX (18 years old) : Lead 3D Artist
Dragibus (about 16 years old but he haven't mentionned it) : 3D Artist
Renegade (16 years old, founder) : Lead Scenarist and Webmaster
Lili (21 years old) : Scenarist
Akwel (19 years old) : Scenarist
GauGau (14 years old) : Scenarist

Recruitments

Because of we're French and don't speak English very well (except GauGau), we prefer to recruit French speaking people. Anyway we're searching for two 3D Artists to make people or vehicles (using 3DSMax or GMax and Character Studio), two 3D programmers who know the OGRE engine and two Level Designers using GTKRadiant or Q3Radiant and, if posible, able to make their own textures.

You can check out their webpage (in French) here.

We'll be sure to keep you updated about this game!
