Project Fanout status

Post by Mr. Teatime »

[Game -> Mod News (DO NOT USE - use MOD > UPDATE instead)]

Psychosniper of Project Fanout has posted an update on the mod's status on the Project Fanout forums.
Ive noticed some people wondering where weve all gone.
Were still here (though posting less due to real life it seems) in the team members section of the fourm (its hidden, so you havent missed anything.)
PreProduction work still continues, and we are still getting ideas together for the maps the demo will use.
Were getting the design document for the demo and taking it apart, deciding whats good, whats bad, and what needs work.
The design doc is rather large, something that would cover multiple locatios in FO or FO2 (or the entire game of FO:Craptics with room to spare. If youre wondering why, its cause the maps are planned to be Huge compared to FO/FO2 maps)
For those wondering about Ender, he's had some family matters come up. Im not aware what happend (and wouldnt disclose it without his premission), though with luck its nothing serious.

A Roll call was done, and the following members responded.
PsychoSniper
Corpse
nentwined
Shade
Andy-Spacetrain
Profane
Volourn
Arcaliea

Corpse contnues refining the new worldmap. It's looking sweet.

A member of the fourm mentioned the idea of changing the graphics of the interface.
That was looked into, and decided to be feasable.
Any interface graphical change is yet to be decided upon however.
Good luck guys, though when the leader of a mod goes AWOL, it's hard not to be cynical.

Thanks, psychosniper.

A few months.

Weve got a long way to go still.

But were still making steady, if slow, progress so just sit back and wait.

I don't think having huge areas is such a good idea, scrolling around was a pain.

With whats planned, the bigger area means more gameplay. Larger towns means more people to interact with, thus a better RP experince (unless we fuck up.)

Quantity doesn't always means quality, take a look at fallout and fallout 2.
The first was alot smaller than the second but in terms of atmosphere and quests it was alot better.

Multiple small areas is better than 1-2 HUGE areas. That's what I meant.

Ah you people really whine just about anything. Towns are to big, its to hard, we want it out now, we want it to look pro, we dont want new graphics we want old fallout animations. I mean the list never ends. Doesnt mather what anyone is making there is people on these forums coming with totaly uncalled hostile coments.

Why dont you try making your own mod instead of wasting time on trashing other peoples mods.

We aren't trashing all those fallout mods, we are just trashing your mod because it's a piece of shit: roofs with not support, lack of quests, poor or non existant dialogue, random stuff put together, the only good thing in your mod is the midget.

It's not whining, not even negative comments, it's just motherfucking FEEDBACK on ideas.

And if you don't wanna be critisized for your mod, don't fucking release it. I mean releasing a diablo-like mod on a forum like DAC is calling for flame. You should try NMA, or maybe even the Codex.

Its on nma. Well first version at least. :chew: Plus i know way to many people that liked diablo 1 and 2 and fallout 1 and 2 so mixing them wasnt all that daring.

GTA: New Reno, you say?

I just hope the controls are more fluid and the Brahmin-jacking system is easier to deal with than GTA: Junktown.

*laughs*

I'll be looking forward to GTA: Vault City then. I anticipate running Lynette over many, many times. Yay. :drunk:
