Fallout 2: The Second Apocalypse reaches 1.2
Let's just summarise it for him...
Haris: Yes, you *slaps* Do i have your attention Haris? *slaps* Look at me, read this, okay? *slaps again* Haris, read.
From both your attitude, your responces to criticism, and the screenshots of your... 'mod' (i.e. Modification... but it's more of mutation, which is quite fitting but that didn't stop us shooting the shit out of pig rats, frankly, so it won't save your.. Mod.), we can judge that you're incapable of any true creativity above the level of a ten year old, and that you regard this a way to show off, boost your ego and feel special, also that you don't have the slightest clue about the essence of the Fallout universe.
Fallout is set in a post-apocalyptic future. Post-Apocalypse. After-the-end-of-the-world. Nukes wipes out pretty much everything. Fallout one is set half a century after it (apologies if i'm incorrect on this, I just finished the game again a few weeks ago but i'm not certain of exactly when it's set in relation to the war), and Fallout 2 longer again. The whole world, completely scoured. Many of the people of intelligence and experience in the pre-war world are dead, much knowledge lost. Technology is lost when 98% of it is destroyed, and 99% of the remaining technology is left without any power supply, and miles from a living human. Your mod, with it's computer bits, brotherhood flags, barrels of goo, all mixed up, as many sprites as you could get your hands on hammered into one screen like a kid with a big box of crayons going mad.
Apart from not looking like fallout, it doesn't even look vaguely acceptable... It looks like a six year old was given the task of creating the shops. Look at the shops. Look at them now Haris *slaps* Look. You overlapped about 15 tables in one place. You just stuck things ontop of each other. There are sharp edges where floor tiles just don't match up. It looks, in short, fucking ugly.
But you're providing some wonderful entertainment for me so please keep arguing. (This isn't reverse psychology, but i'd be quite happy if it functioned as such.).

Again, really, who fucking cares. It's a simplish amateur mod made by someone who can't work his way around basic grammar, not FOBOS or something similar. If you don't like it, go masturbate elsewhere.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
1- If I remember right, it got ripped to shreds at NMA and you got vatted for refusing to take feedback graciously and your constant arguing.Haris wrote:Its on nma. Well first version at least. Plus i know way to many people that liked diablo 1 and 2 and fallout 1 and 2 so mixing them wasnt all that daring.
2- The fact some people may like diablo and fallout does not mean they would like a mix of the two.
I heard about your mod a while ago and quite frankly it did not interest me in the least so I didn't bother to download it. After reviewing the feedback on this thread, and checking out the screenshots I can see I was right. Normally I would say nothing but your blatant refusal to accept criticism, prompts me to tell you what I think about your mod.Haris wrote:T 900 untill you actually play it, your post is worth nothing.
:farts:
Its still on nma. Look under location mods.
Its also on gamespy now.
And the mod comes with a warning.

Thats what read me file that comes with the mod says. Thats why i have hard time understanding what there is to whine about. If you are a fan of quests than this is nothing for you.
And bridge of death is acceptable in your fallout universe? Or how about holy hand granades?Apart from not looking like fallout, it doesn't even look vaguely acceptable...

It was just my reply to this.
And gamespy part i just pointed out that its there to now. I am well awere that anyone can upload what ever they want on game spy.
That sentence was just not true. I wasnt vatted for refusing to take feedback, i got vatted couse i told Rosh that i didnt give any rats ass if he baned me. And my mod was never removed from nma. And new version of it was added by Odin yesterday on NMAs downloads.1- If I remember right, it got ripped to shreds at NMA and you got vatted for refusing to take feedback graciously and your constant arguing.

Then that would suggest that Rosh had already threatened to ban you. For what, I wonder?Haris wrote:i got vatted couse i told Rosh that i didnt give any rats ass if he baned me.
And if it was indeed because you can't accept criticism, I agree with him. You seem to find an excuse for every legitimate criticism offered on this thread, even using something as asinine as "wow, u guys hate it so much im even more proud of it now". This is what's known as asshattery, and nobody likes an asshat.
Your screenshots suck because they're filled with random junk scattered all over the screen with no sense of dimension or logic. You have stuff floating in midair. The BOS items are completely incongruous (read: out of place) with the rest of the items in the environment. The whole thing is a mess, in other words. Did any of that get through to you?
And don't try that "I made it in 10 minutes so it's not supposed to be perfect" crap - if you took the time to wrestle with the Fallout 2 editor, make a mod, and post it on a Fallout fansite with the expectation of feedback, it wasn't a quickie job. You wanted feedback, and you got it.
Think of it this way: If you mod was good, we wouldn't be complaining.
Rosh threatened to ban me cause i didnt use the edit button. I posted 2 replies in a row. And before that i defended a guy that he was flaming so he gave me custom avatar and threatened to ban me. Thats when i told him that i didnt give a rats ass about it. It had nothing to do with my mod. But its all cool now. I just avoid Rosh when i am on Nma forums.
And when it comes to what people think about my mod. So far i havent gotten any negative feedback from people that actually tryed out playing the mod. I had some bug report and requests from them that i took care of. But since nobody that actually played the mod complained about the maps i wont fix it. There is no reason for it cause even if i did none of the whiners here would try it out anyway.
And mod did not take longer than 7 days to make. 2 days of mapping and scripting and 5 days of beta testing and removing script errors and balancing it all out. In first beta there was only 1 town with shopkeper that sold everything. But that was anoying hence you had to scroll trough 250 items to find a certain gun or ammo or armor. So i split it in to 4 towns.

You don't have to play the mod to recognize lousy map design. Compare one of your screens to a screen from Fallout 2. You'll see the difference between a well-planned, cohesive environment and a bunch of elements thrown together just because they look cool.Haris wrote:since nobody that actually played the mod complained about the maps i wont fix it. And the fact that you spent so little time on the mod gives me a fairly good idea of its quality. I'm not a modder and I've never used the FO2 editor, but I've read that it's tricky to use. And I know that most good mods take a lot of time to complete, because the modder has the patience to work on it until it's near perfect. Even if your quickie mod is fairly well-designed, it's still a quickie - nothing people will still be enjoying months from now.
I love you. Marry me?SDM wrote:It's called the WORLD. It's not like DAC is some elitist highbrow paragon of human perfection. Hell, half of us look at Goatse on a daily basis.
All i can say about that is "doh". This mod is not fallout 3 or even anything close to what fanout is trying to achieve. Its a fun time waster. You just go around killing stuff in it and loot weapons and junk you find in boxes on random encouner maps. Than you take your loot to one of those shops and trade it for armor/stimpacks/psychoes/ammo/better armors/and so on. It takes 5 seconds to instal and 5 seconds to uninstal. And it doesent effect the actuall game files.nothing people will still be enjoying months from now.
Right now we are trying to make another one of these with only 1 town. Its gonna be called Arena or Thunderdome or Death match not yet sure. Entire mod is gonna be played on same map. This mod will have an ending and goal to achieve. Its collecting 500000 $ to buy your freedom so they will let you out of that town. And you make money by fighting in the ring. And the higher level you are the better fights you can take and the better shops that are in town will be unlocked for you. When you have 500000 $ you pay for your freedom and mod ends. Allso you will have to fight against 10 special enemies before you can go free. Some of them is Midget troopers- 10 mean midgets with submachines, Insane scientist- with needler gun and so on. Since in this mod you spend all the time in the town and not just 2 minutes to trade we will have to make town look good.
That's the whole problem, Haris, we're not the kind of people who are gonna appreciate this kind of mod. We bashed FOPOS, most of us bashed FOT. And you rarely see people here saying how much they appreciate action-RPG and hack 'n' slash games like NWN, D2 or BG:DA.Haris wrote:All i can say about that is "doh". We're not WHINING, we're just saying WE DON'T LIKE YOUR MOD, EVEN IF IT'S BEEN DONE IN 7 DAYS AND ITS PURPOSE IS NOT TO BE FALLOUT3, WE DON'T LIKE IT, and we don't like it for what it is.
Thats the first decent negative feedback i gotten. It did not contain personal insults. You made your point well. Even thoe that isnt really my problem if someone doesent like action rpg. Still my mod is downloaded and played by quite alot of people. Even if tactics was crap compared to Fallout 1 and 2 but still there was people that liked playing it. And there is plenty of them visiting Dac and Nma. I visited Dac for 2 years before i made my account here. Mostly to read news and download patches and stuff like that. I did not feel like i had to have account cause i had nothing important to say. That's the whole problem, Haris, we're not the kind of people who are gonna appreciate this kind of mod. Shut the fuck up, Susan, you're a Final Fantasy fanboy and thus have no right to bash anyone else's taste in games.S4ur0n27 wrote:That's the whole problem, Haris, we're not the kind of people who are gonna appreciate this kind of mod.
