Vampire goes gold... no, wait...
<strong>[Game -> Update]</strong>
... it's being released next week. It's nothing to do with post-apocalyptic stuff, but most of us are <a href="http://www.troikagames.com">Troika</a> fanbois and it's been a slow news day. <a href="http://www.vampirebloodlines.com/">Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines</a> is going to be released in America next week.<blockquote><i>Santa Monica, CA – November 9, 2004 – The bloodletting begins on November 16, 2004 with the shipping of Activision, Inc.’s (Nasdaq: ATVI) Vampire®: The Masquerade – Bloodlines™ for the PC.
<br>
<br>An all-new RPG adventure, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines is filled with rich character development, an intriguing storyline set in White Wolf’s World of Darkness®, and mind-blowing graphics powered by Source™ - Valve’s next generation engine technology. It will take a vicious array of vampire disciplines and a healthy penchant for blood, for players to survive the dark and gritty undying world of modern day L.A. Selecting from one of seven clans, gamers will interact with other characters, decide with whom to ally themselves, and watch as darkness takes over their soul while a mysterious plot unfolds.</i></blockquote>Releasing it on the same day as <a href="http://www.half-life2.com/">Half Life 2</a> is worrying to me. I sincerely hope it won't get buried under that game. Maybe there wasn't much choice: release the game now in time for Christmas, or wait until next Easter or something. Oh well, I've just placed my pre-order. Congratulations, <a href="http://www.troikagames.com">Troika</a>. Next stop: <i>Fallout</i>'s spiritual successor?

NO! BAD! Bloodlines does not have any predecessors. That game Redemption is a totally unrelated title that has nothing to do with Bloodlines. Saying Redemption is Bloodlines' predecessor is like saying that Dark Forces was KOTOR's predecessor--same setting, yes, but completely different games.Mismatch wrote:hopefully its less linear than its predecessor.

Perhaps in the same way that all Englishmen are English men?Mismatch wrote:I mean, making this game must in some way be realted to the otherone
The development of either one was made possible by the popularity of the Vampire PnP game.the devlopment was made possible since the last one sold rather well or summit.
It's PC only and hey, it may well suck hard, but I'm thinking it'll be good.
Didn't you fucking read other posts? The other one ISN'T the first one, the only thing they have in common is the name, even the setting isn't the same, as Redemption was set party in a medieval setting.Subhuman wrote:People are already pre-ordering this game? I heard the first one was crap.

It's not even the same company making it.

Yes, I read the other posts. Relax. By "first one", I meant Redemption.Susan wrote:Didn't you fucking read other posts? The other one ISN'T the first one, the only thing they have in common is the name omg i need pills
But if they're going to call the game Vampire: The Masquerade - [Fill in the blank], people are going to draw comparisons between the two. So y'all need to stop freaking out whenever someone mentions Redemption, because again, same freakin' name.

You're quite right, a great deal of grossly misinformed people are making that connection. Therefore it's our responsibility as people who know the truth of the matter to share that truth. So if someone tells me "omg redemption sucked FUK BLOODLINES" I'll tell them that Bloodlines and Redemption are two totally different games from totally different devs.Subhuman wrote:But if they're going to call the game Vampire: The Masquerade - [Fill in the blank], people are going to draw comparisons between the two.

I hope its good because i was dissapointed with TOEE but maybe that was because it was a whole dungeon romp DnD type RPG.
I dunno if there will be a need to preorder the game unless they just get a small amount because they arent sure how the game will sell. I cant wait to sucky the blood.
