Quick update please chaps...

Post by Viktor »

Having just revived from a 6 month long coma caused by accidentally watching 30 seconds of Friends on E4 (it's a brit thing...) while waiting for The West Wing to start, I'd appreciate a quick update on what's being going on at DaC (apart from 2 host changes..) while I've been away.

A quick 10 bullet points of the most important/humerous/stupid events should do the trick.

Ta much!

- I returned from the dead
- We switched hosts...or something (ask Teatime)
- Teatime became an Admin...unless he already was; again, ask him
- The Wasteland came back, then disappeared, then came back again
- And so did Feelings Online
- Three n00bs came, saw, talked shit, and got banned
- People made fun of Fallout Ranger
- "Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines" (NOT "REDEMPTION!") was released to rapturous acclaim here
- As was HL2, to less rapturous acclaim
- Kotario continued being an anime-loving freaktard.

That about sums it up.

The West Wing? Ewww.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

How did you find out my secret?

Yeah, basically Saint handed over the keys of DAC to myself, brought DarkUnderlord on as well who sorted out a bunch of things 'behind the scenes' and is still doing so, and I contacted King and he's a site admin as well now. Things seem to be going pretty well, and hopefully there's going to be an upgrade of the whole site in terms of design, scripts, and so on, around Christmas/New Year time that will be impressive.

Apart from that, not much has changed. Always nice to see old regulars coming back...

Holy, great to see you back, Vik.

The only interesting event you missed was probably Slave's attempt at being funny.

Also, the return of Feelings Online, following which a few of us quickly took in charge of killing it, and then bringing it back without Rodney.

I'd extend my sympathies to you Viktor, but being comatose was probably preferable than being awake for such an ordeal. I could say I know you, but that would be a lie. Welcome back regardless. :drunk:

Well, well, well!

Welcome back, Viktor.

The big news in my corner is that on Jan 6, '05 I'll be leaving for a four week refresher course at Ft. Knox, Kentucky, followed by 9 weeks of infantry training at Ft. Benning, Georgia. (Considering I'm turning 34 next month this should be something of an exercise in masochism...) Yes, that's right, after an 8 year break in service I'm selling 3 years and 15 weeks of my life to Uncle Sam.

This'll probably be my last hurrah, so I figure I'll go see how the other half (read: light infantry) lives.

Hope everything's well w/you at Bunker Albion.

Cheers,

OTB
