The Russians plan to blow up the world

Post by Mr. Teatime »

[Community -> Update]

Well, not quite. A story on BBC News reports:
A former Russian nuclear scientist has handed over to police eight containers of plutonium-238 he had stored at home for eight years.
The 400g (14oz) of plutonium-238 - a highly radioactive compound - came from a disused laboratory in Siberia.

Former employee Leonid Grigorov said he removed the containers for safekeeping after the lab was looted and stored them in a lead case, Russian media say.

...

Mr Grigorov is quoted as saying he had written letters to his former bosses warning of the risk posed by radioactive material left in the laboratory in Zmeinogorsk, which was abandoned and looted after the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991.

When his letters failed to elicit a response, Mr Grigorov says he was obliged to remove the material himself "to prevent anything bad from happening".

He says he took the plutonium from his garage to the local police, in response to a newspaper advertisement announcing a cash reward for surrendering weapons.
So we're safe for now, then.

He only gave it back for the money, poor lad :butthead:

It's pretty fucking frightening, seeing as anybody could steal some plutonium and shit.

Yay I picture glowing in the dark and pissing shiting my insides out in no time hurray for fallout (not the game)!

The misleading title this is very good example of how the western buffoons keep badmouthing Russia for no legitimate reason...
If you ever have looked in a history book you might notice(if you are able to filter out all the western propaganda in most of them) that Russia itself has not attacked anyone(with exception of America-financed Afghanistan by the end of the 1970s, which was in fact an "preemptive war") since after the WWII. On the contrary it has been assaulted on numerous occasions from Mongolians and Swedish kings to Germans and, lately, islamic terrorists...
There are no 'knowns'. There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.
