KOTOR 2 Endings Inspired By Fallout

In <a href="http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php ... 5">this</a> post on the <b>Obsidian</b> forums, <b>Chris Avellone</b> talks about how the endings for <b>KOTOR 2</b> are similar to the endings for <b>Fallout</b>. Here's a little of what he had to say:<blockquote><i>I don't know if you've ever played Fallout, but if you haven't, you should. One of the best role-playing games ever made.

<br>In any event, one of the many cool things about Fallout (which may have been done in previous games that I am ignorant of) is that the choices you made with each city you visited in the game caused a different splash screen at the end of the game, describing what happened to the locale in the future as a result of your actions.

Endgame slideshows really are simply the best way to handle multiple endings for multiple locations. All you need is a handful of still images per location, a handful of paragraphs of narration to be voiceovered and, y'know, excellent design, and you've got an inexpensive, easy and really good way to handle multiple endings.

Replaying the whole game just to see the multiple endings is shit, your choices have to have an impact on the whole game, not just the very end.

I second D5it-m38's comment, I sincerely hope they learn from the mistake(s) of for example Deus Ex 1 (and probably 2) : last minute decisions with dire, far-reaching consequences do not make for rewarding gaming. :drunk:

I haven't yet played Bloodlines, I can't bloody stand virtually identical game paths with the only significant divergence during the endgame . . . It's so cheap. :drunk:

That is kind of lame, especially since I remember the previews saying that choices you were making around the mid-game affected the ending. I haven't got to the end yet (waiting for a patch) - are all options open to you right at the end, so you choose your ending?

Why can't you get to the ending? Is it the gamecrashing society of leopold quest? Or something else? Cause there's stuff you can do which fix it.
