What you need is a good pair of slippers. I used to go through socks at ridiculous rates--until I started wearing slippers about the house. Now my socks display exceptional fortitude and my feet have never been warmer.

i have one. although i almost only play tetris and puyo pop on it.
but it's also great for emulating old nes and snes classics on it.
