Flight of the Phoenix

Post by CloudNineGT »

[ -> Preview]

While stretching or breaking the definition of post-apocalyptic I still feel compelled to write about something that at least looks wastelandish (also I enjoy inventing words). <a href="http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/fligh ... >Flight of the Phoenix has potential as long as it avoids any heavy metal fight scenes and overly tough-guy acting. Hell, its got bike riding raiders.
When a C-119 cargo plane full of oil workers crashes in Mongolia's Gobi Desert during a sandstorm, the survivors attempt to build a new plane from the parts they find in the wreckage to escape. The plane was piloted by Captain Frank Towns, an employee of oil company Geodel, whose job it is to go to remote oil rigs and shut them down when their productivity has decreased. Having accomplished his job with one such rig, his plane crashes with all of the employees aboard on the way back to Beijing. Can they survive the heat, the sand, and each other long enough to get it airborne?
Flight of the Phoenix will be out in theatres December 22 and I heartily recommend it as an alternative to Meet the Fockers. All manner of Flight of the Phoenix junk can be found here.

Eww, any movie involving an actor named Tyrese is sure to suck. It looks like it's the same caliber as Black Dog or whatever that trucker movie was.

That movie looks totally kickass and the fact that Susan disapproves only reinforces my anticipation.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Watch the original first. Anything with Ernest Borgnine is good.

I've seen something similiar, just with family in some jungle. It seems this happens quite often, no?
Putting aside plotholes such as how bunch of oilrig engineers will re-build pretty big plane.

Fuck that shit. This is just another remake of a good movie to come out of Hollywood's ass. Can't these shitheads come up with something even vaguely original? "Hey, I know, lets remake Flight of the Phoenix[/i}, but lets add a black dude, a black dude with an EYEPATCH, he'll be like a swell guy pirate! Ooo, and a woman, she can get all naked so the horny kids will have something to spank to when they get home! Oh man, I'll be able to buy that ivory nut polisher now!"

What they ought to do is remaster the original and re-release it. See because the people that enjoyed the original are largely retired and don't have shit to do during the day so they'll go to a movie. Best part is that they can re-release that movie for less than it would cost to have made this one, way cheaper. Like everyone in it is dead, except Borgnine, Borgnine'll live for like eight hundred years.

All they have to do is show the movie during the day, when old people feel comfortable going outside (because the darkness reminds them of the fact that they're going to die soon). Then at night they switch back to whatever crap vampire movie is out now for all the hardcore-punk-bitch-cock-smokers to enjoy.

In either case I give this remake ten floppy penises down.

No they can't airsoft.

Come on Airsoft we need a rambolina to make the gals feel like they are potential warriors. We have to have some Mongolian bikers to make things interesting. We need some sexual tension, a love triangle, a hate triangle some dwarves and mimes might be nice as well.

Shit man can't you see that a drama about the ingenuity of man, courage in the face of adversity and the fight for survival just isn’t interesting anymore.

PS. If you think that such things are interesting I suggest watching a move called ‘Touching The Void.’

Yeah, more remakes. I actually have seen the original one. It would have been better if nobody had survived. And chances of that happening in this remake... haaah.

Hmmm... Rambolina... Ok, with enormous tits and relentless lust for sex. Much better rolemodel for teenbiatches.

I'll buy that for a dollar! Hell I'll go two skins if she sports a 44-24-36 figure with a DD or E cup size, commonly wears leather 782 gear, and goes into combat with knee high black leather boots with 4 inch stiletto heels and is festooned with bandoliers, shanks and Desert Eagles.
