This week I've been mainly doing lots of shopping and wrapping presents, but for 47 weeks of the year I'm planning and co-ordinating the testing of 3G mobile phones. Sometimes I even get away from my desk and do some testing myself instead of generating GBs of dumbed down .xl and .ppt test reports so the marketing boys can understand them...
I do very little very well, but I do a lot things reasonably well and have a great deal of practical experience. In a field full of specialists who know just their little bit of the system to the nth detail and middle managers who know fuck all about anything, I've found that getting my job down quietly in the background and helping the Big Boss out when he's in the shit pays off nicely when there's a bonus to be had and keeps me off the "downsizing candidate" list when the budget comes up short.

I can do many things, but only few of them well - even less very well. I have very little experience on work and... well actually, life in general. In Fallout terms, it's like I had the Gifted-trait: I'm pretty much a jack of all trades, but a master of none.
I'm more of a indoor worker. My family line, my blood, draws to physical labor... But I'm not good in that. I'm big, huge really, but I don't get the satisfaction of putting my body to work like my father, his father and his father did.
I'm pretty good at writing, I think. And I get along with people. I'm a social character. I'll propably try my wings in politics at some point - it's still possible that I will end up as a complete failure in that department, though. I've done pretty well in school. Got almost straight A's in most subjects. I like playing around with computers and electronics, but I tend to fuck up a lot when I try to assemble or upgrade something.
So... Well, I'm pretty lost. I have no idea what I'm going to do when I 'grow up' if I fail in politics. I'll propably end up as some low-level manager, book-keeper or a poor free-lancer writer or something otherwise. Oh, and I'm really lazy but when I start doing something, I do it fast and effectively. Roughly said I spend as much time doing an X amount of work as other people do, with the exception that I fool around most of the time and really work less than half the time.
So as a conclusion, I'm a fuck-up.
Edit: Oh and I've been mostly eating and working this week. Happy holidays, oh yes oh yes. I must've gained a couple (of dozen) pounds, at least.

I do... nothing at the moment, as well. Graduated from university this year, but I didn't enjoy my degree and was lucky to get the result I did (a 2.2). It was an english literature degree, and I didn't read a single book throughout the three years. I've had a number of jobs since then but haven't enjoyed any of them and decided i was better off not working and surviving on the funds I had rather than working for more money but spending at least half of my days doing something I hated.
So I'm kind of stuck as well as for what to do. I have yet to see something in terms of career that appeals to me. It can get depressing I guess...hmm.
I think I can write pretty well, when I put my mind to it, but it's finding motivation really.

But that's just part time. Mostly, I, it appears, smoke joints(I don't know how the hell it became a routine), masturbate(probably more than all of you combined),read books, and generally try to learn something new everyday.

Triple? Whoa.. I've never seen anyone take more than two fists at once.
Link me up.

Anyway, I don't really do much, I go to school and spend the rest of my day reading, with a bunch of friends, watching movies/listening to movies.. or in front of my computer.
Maybe I'll get a job next year or something.

Ive been working part time at Cost Plus for some months. I basically move boxed furniture all over the place for people and build furniture for swell guy who dont know how(we do it for free also ). I have to do all kinds of odd jobs around the store too.
Im taking some classes in Jan too so I'll have to see how I can handle both.

I've been suffering an extended bout of chronic illness and depression for the last two years or so. No specific signs of either going away any time soon. I am adrift in limbo without a compass. My life appears to be on hold at the time of writing, and my perception of time is inconsistent. The light is not green. So I while away the hours by reversing my sleeping patterns, reading, writing, laughing, yelling, chemistry, drinking, unconsciousness and misanthropy. I intend to return to my 'formal education' when I recover, and travel the world, fueling my wandering by selling firearms to children, extortion, the poisoning of doctors and politicians and amateur brain surgery at competitive rates.
Waiting.

Just a thought....

Yet another example of how pussies get screwed.
One by one, the penguins steal my sanity
Duck and Cover - Where a thread full of idiots posting the same fucking smile over and over again is considered the cutting edge of hilarity.

That's not a normal job - you need schooling and smarts and stuff to do those kind of things.Trakocian wrote:Am I the only one here who has a normal job?
