Here's a random interesting tidbit that I saw on the pipline today. It looks like the rights to Commodore, one of the platforms for the original Wasteland, have been sold for a whopping $33,000,000!<blockquote>A Dutch company said Thursday it will sell the once-mighty Commodore computer brand to U.S.-based Yeahronimo Media Ventures Inc. for 24 million euros, or $33 million.
 
 Yeahronimo will use the Commodore name to increase awareness of its services and hopes to cash in on a recent renaissance of interest in vintage games and computers, Chief Executive Ben van Weijhe said in a telephone interview.
 
 "We have heard a lot from the existing community of Commodore users, asking 'what's happening' with what they see as their brand," Van Weijhe said.
 
 "We plan to talk with them and listen to them" in deciding what products and services Commodore will offer, he said.
 
 Yeahronimo also plans to sell its own Commodore-branded MP3 players and simple video game systems offering versions of the old Commodore games using a Web site called "Commodore World."
 
 The deal is set to close within a few weeks.</blockquote>
 There's still an existing Commodore community? Wow.

I thought it was all retro and stuff. No one's really using the commodore to work or anything?

If somebody started up a new PC brand (along the lines of Dell, HP or Compaq) and called them Commodores, it could be pretty popular, because everybody loves the Commodore.
