Mos Def is a fine actor and a talented entertainer. He's well casted and to my knowledge, Douglas Adams had no qualms with casting a non-white in the role of Ford Prefect. All he specified before he died was that the role of Arthur Dent be played by an Englishman.
On top of that, Zooey's pretty attractive.
My only issue is with the Marvin. I never imagined him as a fat, round headed thing.

Marvin
Recently listened to the CD edition of the BBC Radio version of Hitchhikers'.
Marvin's continual counterpoint to the ongoing moment of panic,
during the plot progressions of the carbon based life forms,
is that,
he already - knows - the answer.
But being such a depressing,
mantically depressing, personality most have stopped listening to him.
""Brain the size of a planet .... "" is part of Marvin's monologue.
Perhaps that's part of the concept behind the round head.
In general, Marvin LOOKING more like a 'cute' rounded, iMac, teddy bear, may be their interpretation of the Serious Cybernetics pitiful stabs at 'friendly' design that always fail. The 'cute' look will whither before the acidity of Marvin's simulated, depressive, personality.

Fuck you, Mismatch, Tintin is a shining symbol of masculinity and heroism. He's thwarted commies, Arabs, gangsters, cowboys, various Europeans, Egyptians and insane Nazi caricatures. He's a master thwarter. If you want something thwarted, you go right to Tintin and brace for some serious fucking thwart.
I really liked the captain better, as a character, than Tintin himself. I read somewhere that originally Tintin was supposed to be just a blank character, so as many people as possible could relate themselves to him... Or something. And that Hergé pictured himself as the captain, you know, the guy who curses a lot and kicks the ass of everyone.
