<strong>[Mod -> Update]</strong>
<strong>Antimeasure</strong> let us know that his <a href="http://ofp.gamezone.cz/index.php?showth ... >Wasteland map for Operation Flashpoint</a> has been updated. I'm assuming it's a multiplayer map, as the page doesn't give many details, but it's nice to see games like <em>Operation: Flashpoint</em> being taken in new directions...
<strong>Update</strong>: You can find out more information on the mod <a href="http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/i ... &">here</a>, thanks <strong>Antimeasure</strong>.

well..
People tell me that they are working on PA Missions/Campaigns for my map, but i don't belive that, they just lie, those fuckers.. But heh, who cares, as soon i get my new graphicscard installed, i will never play ofp again..
This map screams for a dynamic scripted mission. However I'm doubtful it will ever be made. Nobody seems to have any interest in scripting cool things like shops, random mission/enemy encounter generation. Getting quests from NPCs or perhaps a fighting pit where one could use those FDF melee weapons to battle other players or perhaps even AI to make money.
Incorporating that thrown weapons pack, such as throwing knives, bottles, axe, and molotov would be perfect. Add the mule as a hireable so you can pack more things around. A dynamic open ended mission like that would have a lot of potential, especially in multiplayer.
All those games are entertaining short-term diversions, but none match the quality and replayability of OFP in my opinion. The Flashpoint end user community is easily the most prolific of -any- FPS game, possibly any game out there right now.
To be honest I could not even conceive giving up OFP, I'll take a break from it every now and then, however it's always the game I come back to. I won't buy another PC until OFP 2 comes out. Unless they totally bastardize the game. Then I'll swear off PC gaming totally.

FDF > ECP. End of story.
FDF has man portable static machineguns, grenade launchers, AT launchers, MORTARS.
FDF has a lot of the core effects that ECP uses but none of the excessive processor hogging ones that keep me from putting fifty fucking million guys on screen at once. Which is what OFP is all about.
It has a lot of other features that, regardless of the presence of finnish army addons; really improve OFP as a whole. Not to mention I use their decrypted .cpp to make my own amendments to the game so it fits my ideal preferences. I disabled some useless aesthetics like the blood and reduced all the smoke patterns back to OFP default for better performance. Increased the aimprecision value (higher means less precision), and reduced the accuracy of some of the weapons. Modified the recoils. Fixed the recoil/crouch bug. Overall it's given me the ability to make OFP -my game-
Besides, being able to beat some wasteland thug over the head with an axe in some kind of a fighting pit with friends in a coop game just strikes me as fun.
... but yeah. FDF all the way.
