The Drugs, Alcohol, and Tobacco thread

Talk about music, movies, TV, books, other types of entertainment and what your vices are. Also, if you're addicted to the high you get off Aspirin, this is the place to talk about it.

I didn't mean to invalidate your point, Megs. Nevermind.
Megatron wrote:If you break the law, don't complain if you get caught either?
Contextual. As most pre-meditated, serious crime requires skill and intelligence to succeed, if you get caught, odds are you had an appointment with the inevitable anyway. If you are caught burglarising for example, one should probably consider a different career, one that's less demanding of the brain and body, perhaps ? If it's getting nabbed with a negligible quantity of marijuana, or something equally (in my opinion) trivial and relatively victimless - different story. Laws are definitely a mixed bag.
Megatron wrote:I agree with some of what you say and it's a valid point, but it doesn't make much difference anyway.
It can, I've seen it work. I've made it work. Yet, I've also seen it fizzle. Cunts will be cunts if they want to be cunts. Sadly. Truly.
Megatron wrote:I think it would be better if everyone knew there rights so they'd actually fight back against it but not enough people do so they end up being bla bla bla. You get the idea.
Yes, I agree and I see. The current situation is another example of how the angry, insecure idiots of the police forces prefer things. They like their victims as ignorant as possible, makes things easier for them. :drunk:

So really, nothing should change at all. If you can't outwit the below-average policeman, tough shit.

'Twas tongue in cheek. Basic decency towards one another isn't too difficult a change to make, I would think. Or is it ? :drunk:

Uh, I don't really give a shit about this discussion, but I dare to say that I've never had to be afraid of a cop / the cops in my life, since I know that even if one suddenly stopped me on the street, I'd know that I haven't done anything wrong, I wouldn't be carrying an illegal firearm, two kilos of weed or anything like that.

So, yeah. If you're afraid of the big, bad blue it's either you or your government to blame.
Pick one and hit it, yo :drunk:

I agree that a general respect is good for the community and all. But when an officer stops me and doesnt provide reason for me to be there, then yeah i get alittle irritated and to me it shows a lack of respect. But he is right being an ass to an officer only gets you behind bars that much quicker.

This is especially relevent in California, where you don't automatically get arrested for having an ounce or less. The cop can arrest you of course, but if you're polite and un-offensive, then you've got a better chance of just getting a ticket and showing up in court a few weeks later.

Aye, that was a rather depressing and stressful episode of my life indeed.

At least we didn't smoke the dregs of the bong, and we did score little amounts from time to time but I agree, it was pretty bad. :sadblinky:

I've got a friend who once replied to "Want to go drinking?" with "Out of weed, huh?" the other night. Seems like alcohol loses a lot of it's appeal after you start smoking, too. You just go, "well, I'm out of it, so, I guess I could drink, or something, I dunno" wheras in reality I'd realy rather have a joint instead of scotch.

So far the longest I haven't been able to "score" was 3 days, and counting. Eventually when you're out of, you suddenly remember how much you like your friends :joy:

Agree there with you Guardian on both points; since I started smoking, my interest in drinking diminished to the point that now I only have one or two drinks once in a blue moon.

Hey, and "a friend with weed, is a friend indeed".

Quoting Placebo is not allowed.

I don't realy like to leech off my friend, though. Sharing once in a while, that's not a problem, but once you're out, you realy become somewhat of a leech on their stash. And yet the funny part is that I realy don't mind just sharing everything I've got around... whenever I bring over to a friend, we usually end up sitting on three to four joints.

I might get my hands on a nice block of hash soon, but until then.... beer, anyone?

I have heard of Placebo and think I know which song you are referring to but that saying is quite old so I wasn't quoting them.

I don't mind sharing with my friends when I can afford it, as long as its not one sided with me supplying and them smoking.
Since we all smoke bongs, our sessions last a bit longer than if we were to roll joints; we usually get a total of 20-25 cones per gram; enough to get 2 -3 people punished but sometimes we go a bit overboard: there have been many times we've had some real mega-sessions and smoked a whole ounce.

Oh well, I wish you the best of luck on your quest but I think I'll pass on the beer, thanks anyway.. :bong:

Hehehe. Guardian turned into a pothead. I remember not too long back when he'd not touch the stuff, then decided to eat it but said smoking was nasty. Hrm, how quickly things change eh man?

Look... It's a complicated thing... No, wait a second, it isn't : I've got a weakness for drugs, so fucking sue me. I still can't smoke jack worth.

Good thing I haven't gotten my hands on crack, eh?

coffee is a gateway drug. perhaps sugar. When you're out on the battlefield with only your trusty wits, there is no drugs including fats and sugar or food and sleep and everything.

i wonder if guardian will be a cokehead soon. reach for the stars, not the ceiling et c.

Funny that, when I was growing up I was dead against smoking pot; it wasn't until I was 15 or 16 that I finally got to try a joint with a couple of school mates. This was of course after being around a few potheads and observing no visible harsh effects on them besides the red eyes and getting the munchies.
